• There are hints that GMC is working on a new Terrain, which will come out in 2025.
  • The sneak picture shows the AT4 model’s new front end, which has a black grille and boxy headlights.
  • When the year ends, the 2025 GMC Terrain will be shown.

GMC is currently making changes to its SUV line-up. The 2024 Acadia was the first one. It came out this year with a new look and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. GMC has also hinted at a redesigned Yukon, which would have the new headlights squared off like the full-size SUV. The last piece of the puzzle, the next-generation Terrain compact crossover, will be shown off later this year. The American company has already given us a tip about it.

The front end of the next-generation GMC Terrain (2025) looks very different

The headlight and part of the grille that looks like the Yukons are shown in the picture. GMC is showing the AT4 model, which is made for off-roading, in the same way they teased the Yukon. The Terrain’s current softer look is being swapped out for a boxier look that reminds me of the Yukon before it was redesigned. This seems to be the butch design of the Terrain AT4. To link the new grille to the headlights and a smaller trapezoidal piece of trim in the bumper, there is glossy black trim around it.

GMC didn’t say anything else about the third-generation Terrain or when the new crossover would be ready. The current Terrain and the Chevrolet Equinox will continue to be very similar. The 2025 Equinox will have a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 175 horsepower. For models with front-wheel drive, this engine was paired with a continuously variable transmission. For models with all-wheel drive, it was paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2024 Terrain has an automatic transmission with nine speeds, but the engine’s power is the same as in earlier Equinox and Terrain models. It will come after the Equinox gearbox switch, which will come out later this year. Spy photos show that the Terrain will also have a big tablet that stands vertically, like the 15.0-inch center display in the 2024 Acadia. A digital panel with an 11-inch screen like the one in the Acadia will also be added.
