GMC is making its tiniest car more off-road ready, just like it did with the Sierra 1500. The GMC Canyon AT4X AEV resembles the GMC Colorado ZR2 Bison.

American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), a company specialising in off-road equipment for 25 years, made significant off-road changes to the Canyon AT4X and its Chevy sibling. It comes with a raised kit that is 1.5 inches longer than the regular Canyon AT4X, which is 4.5 inches. The Canton AT4X AEV is said to have the best in class, 12.2 inches of ground clearance because it has a higher lift, more prominent fender flares, and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. Because it has enough ground clearance to approach 38.2 degrees, leave at 26 degrees, and break over at 26.9 degrees.

It’s not just a lift kit, though. The Canyon’s off-road parts include stamped steel front and back bumpers, boron-steel skid plates for all its essential undercarriage parts, heavy-duty recovery points, and a front bumper that can be used with a winch. It also has bead-lockable Salta wheels. There are three extra buttons if you want to hook up winches or other off-road gear.

With an eight-speed automatic transmission, the basic GMC Canyon’s 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. It has the same engine as the Colorado ZR2 Bison, which makes sense.

This car is a GMC ZR2 Bison with a few minor styling changes. The Bison has the same lift package, tires, AEV skid plates, bumpers, and winch fittings. Because the AEV logo is a bison (which is why the Chevy is called that), its headrests have the same design.

The Canyon AT4X AEV from GMC doesn’t have a price yet, but it will go on sale later this year. But because the Canyon is often more expensive than the Colorado, you can expect it to be a little more expensive than its brother or sister with the bowtie.
