We test drive a huge number of new cars, trucks, and SUVs every year. To do this, our testing, editing, art, and video teams have to work together in a way that is hard to believe. A lot of what they do is hidden from readers who see the final product. Our photography is, of course, easy to see and of high quality. Even though it can be hard to pick favorites from the thousands of pictures we take every year, we like a challenge. At the end of 2023, our amazing photography team went through all the pictures they had taken the previous year and picked out a few of their favorites:

Icon The Suburban 1970

Darren Martin took pictures of this beautifully fixed-up and renovated 1970 Icon Chevrolet Suburban in Simi Valley, California. It costs a lot of money to buy the car.

The hottest pictures of SUVs, trucks, and cars this year!

The Ford F-150 Raptor in 2022

This quick drone picture was taken in California’s Mojave Desert. It shows a Raptor flying along a lonely highway while being followed by a camera. William Walker took this picture.

The Rivian R1T 2022

Heavy snow fell on our long-term Rivian R1T while we were on vacation in Big Bear, California, in 2023, which was the state’s record-breaking winter. Brandon Lim took the pictures.

World Championships for Monster Jam

At Monster Jam World Finals XXII in Nashville, Tennessee, professional driver Colton Eichelberger broke a world record with the new ThunderROARus Monster Jam truck. Colton turned on all 1,500 horsepower and slammed the 12,000-pound truck into the arena from the balcony level of Nissan Stadium. He threw the truck over 150 feet into the air to win the new long jump title. Photographer Darren Martin took this timelapse of the jump’s size.

Porsche 911 RWB

DTMAutobody did a great job putting together this RWB Porsche 911 S Cabriolet for its owner, Patrick Toledo. The pictures were taken inside the DTMAutobody shop in El Monet, California. The pictures came from Renz Dimaandal.

Competition in Horse Racing at The Coliseum

The Los Angeles Coliseum was turned into a track for races when NASCAR came to town. The exciting Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum is beautifully captured in Brandon Lim’s picture.

Dark Horse Ford Mustang

Brandon Lim drove the new Ford Mustang Dark Horse deep into the rolling hills of the southern San Joaquin Valley to try to get a picture of the car’s last meeting with Dodge’s famous Challenger before the Challenger stopped being made.

Ram TRX

While recording an episode of Head 2 Head Drag Race, William Walker saw Jonny Lieberman throw this car high into the air. In the episode, Jonny and Jeff Glucker raced the RAM TRX against a Raptor R, a Rivian R1T, and a Hummer EV.

The TRD Pro Toyota Tundra

To make the huge Toyota Tundra TRD Pro look small, you need a really scary scene. Last week, photographer William Walker did the job on a car trip through the rough terrain of Leslie Gulch in eastern Oregon.

The Toyota Sequoia

The route is long and complicated. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro has a lot of chances to make a lot of noise on this winding highway through the foothills of California. This fun drone picture was made by photographer Brandon Lim, who did a great job of drawing in the lines without hurting any plants.

The SF90 Spider from Ferrari

It is always fun to be able to take pictures of a Ferrari. When Renz Dimaandal took pictures of an SF90 Spider in Downtown Los Angeles, a big crowd would gather every time he did.

The 2024 SUV of the Year

In order to get this picture for our 2024 SUV of the Year contest, Renz Dimaandal had to race against both the setting sun and the lack of drone batteries. It was a surprise that not all of this setup needed the camera to be in the air. We’d land the drone, line up the rest of the cars in that row, and then take off again to make sure everything was right. It took two and a half hours to do everything the right way. The winner is in the picture.

The Chevy Colorado ZR2

Invoice pricing named the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado Truck of the Year a long time ago. In this once-blue Colorado ZR2, editor Christian Seabaugh and photographer Renz Dimaandal took it on a multi-day, 800-mile trip into the Nevada desert. Starting in Beatty, Nevada, on the edge of Death Valley, the route went through the Tonopah Basin, over the Pilot Mountains, and across the dunes near Fallon. It then followed an old Pony Express route to a finish line west of Carson City.

Downey’s Favorite Cars

This person kept on standing in front of some really cool electric classics, and we have no idea who they thought he was. Invoice pricing had the chance to spend time with and meet Robert Downey Jr. and his collection of beautifully restored and electric vintage cars before Downey’s Dream Cars came out. Downey, who is a natural actor, acted silly for freelance photographer James Lipman’s camera. It was a strange picture shoot.

Performance of the Bentley Flying Sour

One of the most beautiful cars ever made is a 2023 Bentley Flying Spur Speed. Photographer Darren Martin used his amazing lighting and editing skills to give the Bentley a beautiful glow. We only give this much attention to the best cars because we take so many pictures of them every year.

Harley Davidson

The 2023 Honda Motocompacto is one of the most surprising cars ever made. The small, foldable, electric Motocompacto is a nod to the Motocompo scooters of the 1980s. It has caught the attention of both customers and Invoice pricing workers. Only a few people on the Invoice pricing team will make Santa’s nice list this year, but if they do, a Motocompacto will be at the top of their lists.

SE Saturn SC2

Aaron Gold, senior editor of Invoice pricing, and Brandon Lim, photographer, went to Chicago to look at a 1996 Saturn SC2 that looked like it had just been driven off the lot for the July 2023 issues of the magazine. The car business of the 1990s influenced a lot of our team. This 61,000-mile beauty was one of many great cars we drove and photographed for the 1990s issue. The issue will be a staff choice in 2023 as a whole.

Shining Air

It should have been easy for testing director Eric Tingwall and photographer Darren Martin to drive Invoice pricing’s long-term Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance test car for a whole year. Lastly, it brought attention to the unfortunate flaws in the facilities for charging electric cars. Darren wasn’t harmed and took this stunning picture of the enticing Lucid in the stunning Utah desert. What matters is that they got to Los Angeles, even though they would have liked it if they hadn’t had to pull out all of their hair on the way.

The C8 Chevrolet Z06

Erik Johnson, the editor-in-chief, dared Aaron Gold, a senior editor based in Los Angeles, to drive a Corvette Z06 and find ten things that seem only to be found in Detroit. Aaron eats pizza made in the way of Detroit and Faygo Pop in the rough industrial area of Los Angeles. Renz Dimaandal took the picture.

The 2024 SUV of the Year

Even though only one finger hits the shutter button, many people work together to make this beautiful picture. The skilled staff behind the photographer and the people who help drive, move, and clean the cars have a big effect on the quality of the pictures. These stunning pictures show that Invoice pricing has the best staff in the business.
