• The starting price for the three-row Kia EV9 electric SUV in 2024 has been set.
  • The EV9 Light RWD is the base type. A single electric motor in the back can make 215 horsepower.
  • The price of the long-range models and the dual-motor AWD setups has yet to be released.

The price of Kia’s three-row electric SUV, the EV9, will be about the same as that of a fully-loaded Telluride. Even though Kia hasn’t said what the needed destination charge will be yet, based on what it was for the EV6, the introductory price for the regular Light RWD version of the 2024 EV9 will be more than $56,000.

In this setup, a single 215-hp electric motor in the back is powered by a 76.1-kWh battery pack. Even though there are no EPA estimates yet, Kia thinks this version will have a range of 223 miles. Since the EV9’s 215 horsepower won’t be enough to move its 5000-pound curb weight, it will take 8.0 seconds to hit 60 mph.

The prices for the more desirable EV9 cars, which have dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains with much more power and larger battery packs for a more extended range, will be revealed later. The larger 99.8 kWh Long Range battery pack is projected to increase income by a few thousand dollars. The 379-hp dual-motor engine in the Wind, Land, and GT-Line trims will do the same. Almost definitely, it will cost more than $70,000 for a fully equipped version.

Reports say that the EV9 will go on sale in the US by the end of this year. The first cars will come from Korea. Kia will start making cars at its West Point, Georgia plant next year.
