• Kia showed off a hatchback form of the new K4 subcompact and said that it would be available in the US.
  • In the last model of the Forte, there was no hatchback version for the United States.
  • Kia hasn’t said when the hatchback will be available, but they have said it will be “at a later date.”

In the United States, the current Kia Forte is only available as a sedan. However, some of its small rivals, like the Honda Civic, Mazda3, and Toyota Corolla, also come in hatchback form. We know that Kia is making up for this with the new 2025 K4 because they showed off a new hatchback model at the New York Auto Show and announced that it would be sold in the US.

The Kia K4 Hatchback will officially be sold in the US, and it looks great

The K4 hatch looks very different from the car, at least behind the B-pillar. With a chrome trim piece around the back window and an interestingly shaped D-pillar, it has a “floating roof” style. Just like the sedan, the headlights have LED lighting strips that cover almost the whole car. The trunk of the hatchback, which is straight, looks like it has more space than the trunk of the sedan.

The hatchback will have the same powertrains as the car. The base model will likely have a 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 147 horsepower and a 1.6-liter inline-four engine with 190 horsepower that is turbocharged.

The hatchback has yet to have a clear name, but Kia calls it the K4 5-door hatch. There were times when the company used the “5” number for models like the Rio 5 and Forte 5. However, the K4 5 is hard to say. It wasn’t clear when the K4 hatchback would be available, but Kia did say that it would be available “at a later date.” The hatch could come out by the end of the year or the beginning of 2025. This is because the K4 car will be available in the US in the second half of this year. There will be more information in the months to come.
