• Following the 2026 Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S Final Edition, the second-generation CLA and its high-performance AMG version will cease production.
  • The big “45 S” logo on the front doors of the Final Edition sets it apart. The doors are Mountain Grey Magno with yellow accents.
  • We don’t yet know the cost of the Final Edition, but we do know that it will be available in limited quantities starting in early 2026.

Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to release the third version of the CLA-class in 2026. This fall, the all-electric CLA EV will be available for sale. In early 2026, a new hybrid CLA-class car will follow. For now, though, Mercedes’ performance arm, AMG, hasn’t finished the new CLA and has released a special Final Edition to say goodbye to the current CLA45 S.

The Last Edition 2026: The Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S Is The Final Edition Of The Sedan

A limited number of the 2026 Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S Final Edition will be available when it hits shops early next year, but the company that makes them has not said how many. The Final Edition is distinguished by a black-and-yellow “45 S” emblem displayed on the front doors. It also has Mountain Grey Magno paint from the brand’s Manufaktur customization program.    Likewise, the sideview mirrors feature a yellow outline.

There are yellow accents around the center caps, which sit on 19-inch matte black wheels. The black brake pads have badges that say “AMG.” On the Final Edition, you can also get the AMG Night option, which includes gloss-black and black chrome body accents. It was also equipped with the AMG Aerodynamics Package Plus, which included a larger rear wing, a gloss-black rear diffuser, an enlarged front splitter, and small dive planes on the front bumper. There is also a unique silver metal gas cap featuring the AMG logo.

The black AMG Performance seats in the Final Edition are crafted from microsuede and Mercedes’ MB-Tex synthetic leather, featuring yellow highlights. The front headrests have the “45 S” symbol embroidered on them, and the whole body is stitched in yellow. AMG logos that light up on the door sills, “45 S” written on the floor mats, and “45 S Final Edition” written in the center panel are some of the other things that make this car stand out.

The motor stays the same. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Mercedes claims the CLA45 S can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. But it’s even faster. A 2020 CLA45 with 382 horsepower ran the dash in 3.7 seconds in our tests. All-wheel drive is standard on the CLA45, allowing it to send all power to the rear wheels for enhanced driving dynamics. An eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles gear changes.

Although Mercedes will no longer produce the second-generation fast sedan after the 2026 CLA45 S Final Edition, it is likely already working on a more aggressive form of the next third-generation car. A new CLA is shown in spy photos, featuring different bumpers, an active rear wing, and camouflage on the front fenders where the AMG badge would typically be located. AMG will test both electric and hybrid CLA-class cars, and we shouldn’t have to wait long for a full review.
