• Lexus will add the TX, a brand-new car, to its line-up in 2024.
  • It’s a three-row SUV more significant than the RX L and has more room in the third row.
  • Models like the TX350, TX500h hybrid, and TX550h+ plug-in hybrid are easy to get.

It’s hard to believe that Lexus took so long to give the American market a reliable three-row luxury SUV. The Lexus TX 2024 is a new model more significant than the two-row RX and takes over as the company’s largest SUV from the truck-based LX600. It has the same base as the Toyota Grand Highlander. Still, it has more features, more excellent materials inside, a unique exterior design, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain that can be added as an option.

The TX is a big truck with a length of 203.1 inches and a wheelbase of 116.1 inches. It is more significant than competitors like the Acura MDX and is a much more severe try at a three-row vehicle than the previous RX L, which had a third-row seat that was rarely used. The TX’s way-back seats are much more comfortable than those in the RX L, and it’s easy to get in and out because the second-row seat can be quickly flipped forward. Also, there is more room for goods behind the last row.

The chrome bar in the middle of the spindle grille and the inverted L-shaped accent light on the headlights of the TX are two of the most eye-catching parts of its design. On the other hand, the full-width LED taillight strip and slab-sided shape are less noticeable.

Two of the TX’s engine choices are almost identical to the Grand Highlander ones. The TX350’s base engine is a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four with 275 horsepower. It has a 10-speed automatic engine; you can drive it with the front wheels or all four. Lexus says that its combined EPA fuel economy figure will be 21 mpg. The more powerful TX500h hybrid is only offered in the F Sport Performance trim. It has two electric motors, a six-speed automatic gearbox, and an all-wheel-drive system that can produce 362 horsepower. There are also 22-inch wheels, steering on the back wheels, and changeable dampers. The TX500h says it gets 24 mpg on average.

The TX stands out because it has a version called the TX550h+, a plug-in hybrid that runs on a 3.5-liter V-6 fuel engine. This set-up is said to have 406 horsepower, get 30 mpg, and go 33 miles on electric power alone. Even though it has all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic gearbox, Lexus hasn’t said anything about the battery’s size or how fast it charges.

Also, Lexus hopes that the TX will stand out from its Toyota sister because of how its interior looks. On the inside, there is a head-up display, a digital gauge cluster that can be added, and a 14.0-inch touchscreen entertainment system. It looks and feels excellent for a Lexus, with a lot of storage space, multiple charging ports, and power outlets while still being very useful. Inside, you can choose from black, birch, or peppercorn colors. The RX500h comes in the base, Premium, Luxury trim levels, and the F Sport Performance.

The RX, which will cost between $48,950 and $64,145, is expected to be a few thousand dollars more expensive than the TX. The TX350 and TX500h will go on sale this fall, and the TX550h+ PHEV will come out later.
