According to InsideEVs, Toyota has trademarked many variations of the letter “TZ” with the European Intellectual Property Office (EIPO). We anticipate a completely electric competitor to the forthcoming three-row Lexus TX to go by the designations Lexus TZ450e and Lexus TZ550e. These are the names because they appear in the trademarks. In 2025, Toyota plans to release the bZ5X, a three-row electrified SUV. The Lexus TZ serves as a likely inspiration for its underpinnings. Lexus is likely developing a three-row electrified SUV. We don’t know what it will be called just yet, but a “TZ” badge may be on the cards for a model like this. InsideEVs reports that Toyota has recently submitted trademark applications to the European Intellectual Property Office (EIPO), and evidence from those filings backs up the claim. Toyota trademarked the terms “Lexus TZ450e” and “Lexus TZ550e” in applications filed earlier this week. They may be roughly the same size as the new Lexus TX, which has three rows of seating, three engines (two hybrids), and a “T” in their names. Lexus’s electric vehicles, including the compact RZ SUV, all have Z in their words. More than any of these speculations about the Lexus TZ’s predicted body shape and powertrain, Toyota already has plans to construct a three-row electric SUV in 2025. Based on the Toyota bZ5X idea, we expect the production model will share the same name and engine as the concept. As per today’s announcement, the “TZ” prefix has been designated for the latter.
