• Customers who bought the 2025 Aston Martin DBX before have two big problems that have been fixed: the user interface (UI) and the interior.
  • Aston is also eliminating the 542-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8, making the 697-hp DBX 707 the only model offered.
  • The DBX has almost all of its interior parts redone, and it also has Aston’s new entertainment system, which was made in-house and is already available in the DB12.

Facelifts in the middle of a cycle usually include changes to the appearance or improvements to the powertrain. The new Aston Martin DBX 707 goes in a different direction. The V-8 engine and suspension gear, as well as the way it looks, have mostly stayed the same. The most important change is an entirely new bedroom.

Getting the Problems Fixed

The cause of this goes all the way to the top of the company. Most owners of the luxury SUV gave it good reviews for almost everything else. However, Aston executive chairman Lawrence Stroll said that the most common complaints were about the DBX’s old-fashioned user interface and car design. Aston Martin’s new infotainment system, which was made in-house and is already in the DB12, and the inside of the DBX were both rebuilt by him.

The basic DBX, which has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine with 542 hp, is no longer in production, according to Aston. Neither is the blended six-cylinder version, which was sold in some parts of the world but not in the US. As a result, the only choice for the 2025 model year is still the fast DBX 707.

The DBX’s interior didn’t have uniform ergonomics, but it always had flair. The DBX 707 before the facelift had a strange layout. It chose gears with a row of buttons at the top of the dashboard, had non-haptic drive-mode switches squished into the center panel, and had haptic climate controls. It also had one of the last infotainment systems in the premium market that didn’t have touch-sensitive controls. Instead, it used a modified version of Mercedes’ previous generation user interface, which worked by turning and clicking a rotary controller.

Almost everything inside the new car has been changed, like the dashboard, door cards, and the layout of the controls, which is now much easier to use. The DBX 707’s main panel now looks a lot like the ones in the DB12 and the soon-to-be-released Vantage. It has a small gear shifter with physical buttons for the drive modes and an HVAC system.

The LCD screen above this device is 10.2 inches and has a high resolution. It runs the Aston UX system, which is based on Linux and is owned by the company. The cap in the middle of the steering wheel has been changed to look better and take up less space. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used wirelessly, and there are two USB-C ports between the driver and front-seat passenger to make the connection better. The sound system now comes with a basic 800-watt setup with 14 speakers and a 1600-watt setup with 23 speakers from Bowers & Wilkins as an option.

The 697-HP engine and main body are the same

A few changes can be seen. The ’25 DBX 707 has five new paint jobs and door mirrors that can be moved and equipped with cameras for a three-dimensional parking display system. It is also said that the outside door handles are “self-present,” meaning that they slide outward when the car is open.

In 2025, the Aston Martin DBX 707’s mechanical specs will stay the same: a nine-speed automatic gearbox and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine with 697 horsepower power on all four wheels. The engine and transmission are both made by Mercedes’ AMG division. A 48-volt anti-roll system, a torque-splitting rear differential, and carbon ceramic brakes are all included as standard. The technology hasn’t changed, but Aston says the adaptive dampers and air springs have been re-calibrated to “increase transient body control.”

The updated DBX 707 will start being sent out by Aston in the second quarter of this year, so we will have to wait for prices. In a different way, briefly.
