Maserati is a company with a lot of pride that wants to return to the GT race. Even though it’s been a while since he’s had a drink, the manufacturer who wears a Trident is eager to get back on the racetrack. The car that will get it there is the brand-new Maserati GT2. Maserati showed off the car at the 24 Hours of Spa, the perfect place to announce a return to GT racing. The new GT2 is a race car built to win. It is based on the Maserati MC20 and has been approved for racing in the GT2 class. Maserati is promoting the Maserati MC12, a race car based on the Ferrari Enzo that participated in FIA GT races from 2004 to 2010. The Maserati Innovation Lab made the GT2, and researchers extensively used the company’s dynamic simulator. With help from the racing engineering group YCOM, the Centro Stile Maserati shaped and moulded the car. The GT2 is a modified MC20 made into a real race car. There are ducts and vents all over the body and hood, and the front has a prominent splitter and a deep air dam to make downforce. It has enormous roof scoops and haunches at the back that scream “terrifying European race car.” As a real GT driver should, it also has a big wing on the back of the gooseneck that helps it stay on the ground when going fast. The driver sits in the middle of the car, where all the business is done. There is an actual race switch panel, and the steering wheel is covered with buttons and knobs. A race engineer should show you where everything is before you hit the track. You could also ask them for advice on how to set things up right. You don’t want to get the engine map wrong and embarrass yourself in front of Lord Featherfoff of Westchester and the children of an oil magnate. The Nettuno engine from the MC20 has been changed to be used in the GT2. Even though it doesn’t have the 12-cylinder machine of the MC12, it should still have a lot of power and a loud exhaust sound. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine makes 621 horsepower, like the MC12’s 6.0-liter V12 engine. But the 538 lb-ft of torque in the GT2 is more than the 481 lb-ft in the Enzo, which was the car that came before the GT2. The Maserati GT2 could be the right choice if you want a new race car for the GT2 class that is a little different. It is ready to race, has all the safety gear it needs, and was made with racing in mind from the beginning. You can get a Trident and bring Maserati’s glory back if you have enough money to start your race team.
