Cadillac seems to be following in the tracks of German car companies by making the all-new GT4 an SUV “coupe” with four doors. It is promoted as the first “New American Luxury” coupe SUV. It has two mild-hybrid turbocharged engines and a “youthful” look. The SUV-crazy United States, on the other hand, doesn’t sell this car.

Even though it’s called a “coupe,” Cadillac’s GT4 is a sporty-looking four-door SUV. It looks more sporty than the Cadillac XT4, a small luxury SUV with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a “sporty” back end. Its thin headlights are based on the form of the all-electric Lyric.

Other outward features include five colours, a new generation of Cadillac’s V-shaped grille, and “self-sealing” tires, another “segment only” Cadillac standard. The Sports Package gives the car a sportier look with its two-tone black upper body, dark roof rails, highlights, and 19-inch metal wheels. The GT4 is a hybrid car with a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that can drive the front or all four wheels. This means that it won’t run on just one system. Each machine has a mild hybrid setup with 48 volts and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Lyriq also influenced the GT4’s circular dashboard, which goes around the car and into the door panels. Also, it comes in one of six two-tone colour schemes with carbon fibre trim panels, brushed metal highlights, and chrome accents. Cadillac says that the centre panel, like the one in the Lyriq, has a lot of storage space and can be used, even though it floats over the other’s interior.

The “segment-only” display is 33 inches wide and different from the rest of the dashboard. It shows the instruments and entertainment on a single screen. The sound comes from a 15-speaker AKG audio system. Cadillac’s latest Virtual Cockpit can be customised on this infotainment and instrument panel screen. A PM2.5 particulate filter and an AQS cabin air monitoring system have been added to the dual-zone temperature control to make the air inside easier to breathe than the air outside.

You can only buy one—the Cadillac GT4 2024 in China. Even though the GT4 is called an “American Luxury” coupe SUV and Americans love SUVs, it won’t be coming to the United States soon. This luxury compact SUV costs between $31,031 (219,870 Chinese Yuan) and $43,742 (309,700 Yuan), which makes it even more upsetting that it won’t be sold in the US.
