This year is Porsche’s 75th anniversary, so the Stuttgart-based company would want to make a big splash. The Porsche Mission X does, and if it reaches its goal of being the fastest road-legal vehicle on the notoriously difficult Nürburgring Nordschleife, it will set an even higher bar. The Mission X would have to do better than the Mercedes-AMG One hybrid supercar, which costs $2.7 million and runs on gas, which has a much higher energy density, and the Tesla Model S Plaid Performance Pack, which just broke the local record for the number of electric cars made in one place.
