In 2025, a brand-new electric pickup truck will be made, just like the Ford F-150 Lightning before it. Ford says that making the second-generation truck called “Project T3” will be easier. Ford’s huge Blue Oval City plant in Tennessee is where the replacement for the Lightning will be made. Ford’s next electric pickup truck will be “like the Millennium Falcon,” whatever that means. Farley’s comments are right on time since Ford announced that it will follow up the F-150 Lightning with a new electric truck in 2025. We don’t know much about the second generation, but its codename is “Project T3” (as in Trust the Truck). The new Lightning will have a more extended driving range and greater towing capacity, and Ford promises that it will be fully upgradeable and constantly improving. A new electrical platform and easier access to over-the-air (OTA) updates should enable these features to work.
