Renault is aiming to release a new electric car that looks like the first-generation Twingo. The French company says that this model will be made soon and won’t cost more than €20,000. We like how the basic Twingo looks, even though it doesn’t have any fancy features. One of the most popular French cars of the 1990s, the Renault Twingo, is coming back as a cheap electric hatchback. Renault recently showed off some possible ideas for a new line of electric cars. This concept of Twingo Legend is one of them. The company says that the real thing will be a reasonably priced entry-level model that costs less than €20,000. Renault will build the retro-styled Twingo EV on one of its new EV systems, but little else is known about it. It also looks cute because it has design cues from the original Twingo, like the half-circle headlights and taillights and the shape of the hatchback, which is an upright two-door car with a very large interior for its size. The company also showed off the Renault 5 EV idea, which was based on the hatchback from the 1970s and 1980s that was sold in the US as the Le Car. The Twingo won’t be the only Renault EV that looks like an old car. The Twingo, which came out after Renault left the American market, was never sold in the United States. However, it was a famous city car in Europe during its first generation, which ran from 1992 to 2007. Two more models came after the first one, but they had different effects. Renault’s new line of cheap electric vehicles (EVs) will have competition from other European automakers that want to get into this new market. On the other hand, Citroen’s -C3 will start selling in 2025 for less than €20,000.
