The stainless steel body of the Tesla Cybertruck, known for its resistance to stains, often becomes a canvas for owners to express their unique style. While plain colors are a popular choice, some owners take it a step further, drawing inspiration from various sources, including video games. One such standout is the ‘Cyber Squire,’ a surprising and intriguing ode to Ford’s old woody wagons. This unexpected twist in customization is sure to pique your interest.

The Cyber Squire was captured at a mall in Grand Junction, Colorado. It seems to have gotten more attention than a normal Cybertruck. The wrap is a tribute to the old Ford Country Squire, a full-size station wagon with wood trim. In the 2000s, when neoclassicism took over the auto business, this pattern came back to the fore, as shown by the Chrysler PT Cruiser. It looks like Wood is making a strange comeback, even though time is a circle.

The Tesla Cybertruck looks great with a traditional wooden wagon wrap, which is a surprise

I contacted Tara McDonald, who designed the dress. She told me that the owner had nearly emailed her a picture of a Country Squire and asked that the same style be used to wrap their Tesla. McDonald said she “took some liberties with a few things” to make it look like it was made for the Cybertruck.

This meant making the new front and back fascias, bending the “wood” sides to fit the Cybertruck’s shape, and hiding small parts all over. McDonald was very proud of one thing that isn’t fully shown in the pictures.

McDonald told me that the chrome parts are all made of chrome fabric, which is hard to see in pictures. To make it look like the headlights and taillights were lit up at night, reflective vinyl was used.

This was done with three different kinds of film, such as shiny and chrome vinyl, some of which needed to be printed in segments. This makes the end product look much more detailed in real life than it does in pictures. To understand what I mean, look at pictures of the print being made.

Upon seeing the finished product, the customer was overjoyed, a testament to the quality of the ‘Cyber Squire’ wrap. He plans to showcase his unique Cybertruck by embarking on a road trip from Arizona to Washington, confident that his customized truck will draw attention and spark conversations. Like any unique design, this wrap is expected to elicit mixed reactions, but the overwhelmingly positive feedback received so far is a reassuring sign of its appeal. At this point, it is your opportunity to contribute your points of view.
