• The carbon-fiber-roofed Venom F5 Revolution roadster is Hennessey’s track-focused supercar.
  • The Revolution Roadster’s 6.6-liter V-8 engine delivers 1817 horsepower, but design tweaks should make it faster on a circuit.
  • Each Revolution Roadster will cost $3 million and be limited to 12.

Hennessey launched the 311-mph, 1817-horsepower Venom F5 ballistic missile in 2020. In 2022, the roof was removed for the Venom F5 Roadster. Early this year, the Revolution version was lighter and track-tested. The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster comes next. It will debut at The Quail during Monterey Car Week the following week.

The Revolution Roadster removes the roof from the hard-core Venom F5, a structural fault that would make it unsuitable for the track. Hennessey claims that the Venom F5’s carbon fiber monocoque and body have maintained the Revolution Roadster stable and fast.

That Roof

Four quick-release bolts and two latches secure the roof. It is not a motorized—removable carbon-fiber polymer roof. The Alcantara-covered panel is lighter than a driven system. Hennessey claims the top weighs 18 pounds.

The Revolution Roadster sports a dual-turbocharged 6.6-liter V-8 engine like other Venom F5s. Hennessey made the track version more aerodynamic instead of boosting power to the 1817-horsepower engine. A four-times-stronger glass shows the gears inside the engine cover.

The Roadster has sharp front splitters and dive planes like the Revolution Coupe. A top scoop and large back wing feed the 6.6-liter engine. Hennessey says Revolution cars’ suspensions have been altered underneath.

Revolution Roadsters cost $3 million. All 12 pieces are sold. The picture shows one of five “Bare Carbon” models, which are more expensive and boast exquisite carbon fiber.
