Rivian is making the Standard battery pack for the R1T and R1S smaller, which will lower the base price by $9100 to $71,700 for the R1T and $76,700 for the R1. The Standard+ battery will cost $ 3,100 more than the Standard battery. Rivian says that the Standard can go 270 miles and the Standard+ can go 315 miles. Rivian keeps adding new powertrain and battery combinations to its line. The new company added the huge 142.3-kWh Max battery pack in October, which increased the R1S and R1T’s estimated range to more than 400 miles. Rivian now offers the R1T pickup and R1S SUV with the Standard battery pack at the bottom of the range. This means that the base prices for both cars are less than $80,000. The basic pack has a capacity of 106.0 kWh and is made for the basic 533-hp dual-motor engine. The EPA says the Standard battery can go 270 miles, the Large pack can go 352 miles, and the Max battery can go 410 miles. The Standard battery costs $9,100 less than the Large battery and $19,100 less than the Max battery. This means that the R1S SUV now costs $76,700, and the R1T truck costs $71,700. The Standard+ pack from Rivian is also coming out. It has a useful capacity of 121.0 kWh and works with both the Dual Motor and the 665-hp Dual Motor Performance setup. Based on what Rivian says, this battery costs $ 3,100 more than the standard battery and can power both possible powertrains for 315 miles. It costs $16,000 less than the Max battery and $6,000 less than the Large battery. The base price for an R1S SUV with a bigger battery is $79,800, and the base price for an R1T SUV with Standard+ is $74,800. It costs $5,000 more for both versions to have the Performance engine. On Rivian’s website, you can choose between the Standard and Standard+ batteries for both the R1T and the R1S. These batteries will be ready to ship in about a week or six.
