• The Optiq, Cadillac’s new electric SUV, will be available the following year.
  • The Optiq looks a lot like the Lyriq, even though it is smaller and costs less.
  • Parts of the Optiq will be used in other GM electric SUVs, such as the Chevy Blazer EV and the Equinox EV.

Next year, Cadillac will add the 2025 Optiq, a small but high-quality electric SUV, to its growing line of electric cars. It will be smaller than the Lyriq mid-size car and will likely go up against cars like the Mercedes-Benz EQB, Audi Q4 e-tron, and Genesis GV60. Optiq’s name, which ends in “IQ,” is the same as Cadillac’s other electric cars, like the Escalade IQ and the luxury Celestiq.

There will be a smaller electric SUV called the Cadillac Optiq coming out in 2025 to go with the Lyriq

The Optiq has beautiful headlights and taillights, lots of chrome and gloss-black trim, and looks stunning in these early pictures of its bright orange color. The Optiq is smaller than the Lyriq generally, but it looks about the same. We haven’t seen the inside yet, but it will be designed in a similar way to the Lyriq’s cabin.

Because Cadillac has yet to reveal much information about it, we don’t know many details about the Optiq’s features. It will likely use General Motors’ Ultium battery packs, though, and it seems likely that it will be built in the same way as the Chevy Equinox EV, which is about the same size.

Optiq might get its engine setups from the Equinox EV. This could mean a basic single-motor setup with a 210-horsepower electric motor that powers the front wheels and an optional dual-motor all-wheel-drive version that boosts power to 290 horsepower. The longest-range systems may be able to go as far as 300 miles.

The starting price should be around $40,000 to $45,000. We’ll have more news when Cadillac gets ready to sell the Optiq in American stores in 2024.
