Fiat has released the first photos of the Grande Panda, a car that will soon be sold internationally to a wide variety of automotive aficionados. The Grande Panda and the new Citroën Ñ-C3 will both be built on the new Stellantis Smart Car base. And it has room for five people. It can use either an electric or a hybrid engine. Fiat’s North American lineup still needs to be bigger, but the company’s fleet of cars sold in other countries keeps growing. The new Grande Panda is a cute little crossover for the European B-segment. The Italian car company has released its first pictures. This Panda is smaller than its name suggests. The new Fiat is 157.1 inches long, which is 2.7 inches shorter than the average car in its class and 10.1 inches shorter than the small Fiat 500X, which is no longer sold in North America. Even though the car isn’t the right size for the well-known name, it looks like it is. The Grande Panda is packed full of design elements that make the final model look more like a concept car. The design on the headlights and taillights looks like it came from the Hyundai Ioniq 5. There is a raised letter “PANDA” on both sides of the car and a raised letter “FIAT” on the back hatch. Fiat says that the 17-inch diamond-cut metal wheels keep the pixel pattern, which makes them look like the Panda 4×4 and geometric designs from the 1980s. The Grande Panda and the new Citroën Ñ-C3 will both be built on the Stellantis Smart Car base. Just like the Citroën, the Grande Panda will have both electric and hybrid drivetrains. While Fiat hasn’t disclosed all the details, the electric version of the Grande Panda is expected to deliver a powerful 113 horsepower and a 44.0-kWh battery pack capable of covering 199 miles (based on the European WLTP test). The hybrid version, set to launch after the C3, will feature a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged engine and an electric motor for an extra boost of power.
