To hot-rod is to defy convention. This is a common phrase in our vocabulary. However, there is a risk in standing out. No one will appreciate a hot rod, custom, or historic car that deviates too far from the norm. However, if you don’t take risks, you risk creating an automobile that blends in with the crowd. The September edition of HOT ROD magazine celebrates those builders who dared to be different from the norm and were rewarded with widespread attention. We found several fellow rodders who shared our interests at the 2023 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. Some of the more intriguing passages are included below.
