• It’s not a new Jeep SUV; it’s a Honda WR-V that has been given a makeover.
  • The car looks like a Cherokee XJ thanks to a new body package from Japanese maker DAMD. However, it has a more modern chassis.
  • The swap comes with a raise, even though this package is more for show than for off-roading.

The Jeep Cherokee XJ series was just as famous as its cousin, the Wrangler. It also helped make the current SUV era possible. It’s a cute and boxy ute, but if you own an old one, it will be rough to ride in and get good gas mileage. It’s fun to drive around in an old car, but what if all you cared about was how it looked?

This Thing Resembles A Jeep, But It's Actually A Mini Honda SUV Dressed Up

Tuner DAMD can help you if you live in Japan. Its newest design, the Reverb WR-V, takes a boring Honda SUV and makes it look like an updated XJ from today’s perspective. Even though you can still see the Honda engine underneath, the Jeep may want to start looking for a more retro-styled replacement for the Compass, as it looks quite good.

The DAMD store is filled with fun items, and the company is best known for its body kits and other products designed to enhance your appearance. The Suzuki Jimny, formerly known as the Suzuki Samurai in this part of the Pacific, is a small SUV that resembles a smaller Geländewagen, often referred to as the Little G. A small Bronco, also known as the “Little B,” is another option.

On the WR-V Honda that features the Reverb, the title “Winsome Runabout Vehicle” is both uniquely Japanese and entirely accurate, especially now that the kit is installed. The hood, front grille, and lower bumper have been squared off as part of the update. The grille has six slots instead of Jeep’s six spaces.

Add a pair of 16-inch steel wheels with BFGoodrich T/A K03 tires to complete the look. Although it features a modest 1.4-inch lift, this fake Jeep won’t be better off-road than a CR-V TrailSport. Also, that’s not the main point of this.

The standard body package costs a little more than $2,000, which is reasonable considering the Jeep cosplay. Aside from having sources in the US, DAMD mainly serves the Japanese market. The Honda WR-V, a subcompact SUV that is even smaller than the HR-V sold in the US, is only sold in Japan. However, DAMD parts are available for a number of Mazda and Subaru cars sold in the Pacific region. Still, the Reverb is by far the best thing.

If copying someone else’s work is the best way to flatter them, then this Honda, which has been customized, is a fitting tribute to the XJ. You don’t need to be an off-road driver to appreciate a well-thought-out design.
