  • This is how Paul Walker spent some of the money he got from “2 Fast 2 Furious.”
  • Featuring a modern V-8 and appealing suspension upgrades, this car promises to be an excellent driver and is available for auction until December 3.

At the end of the 2003 movie 2 Fast 2 Furious, Tyrese Gibson smiles and lifts his shirt to show a lot of money that had been hidden, stolen from criminals, and not turned in with the rest of the proof. A paycheck—enough to start working on cars and building a shop in Miami with Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner. Walker got paid $1 million for the movie, and he used some of it to build a really beautiful Chevy.

Today's Bring A Trailer Pick: Modified 1967 Chevy II Nova, Formerly Owned By Paul Walker

A fully personalized 1967 Chevy II Nova Sport Coupe is now for sale at Bring a Trailer. Year One, a company that specializes in old power cars, gave it to Walker in 2004 and then added the new Vortec V-8 5.3-liter engine to improve it.

Compared to Walker’s on-screen figure, who is known for flashy changes like big spoilers and underflow, this Chevrolet is pretty plain. The Chevy II looked great in 1967, but with the way people liked cars in the early 2000s, it would have been too easy to ruin the look with the wrong paint or wheels. The only parts of this design that don’t fit with the times are the driving wheel and the Autometer instruments with white faces.

As was already said, the vehicle is powered by a 5.3-liter Vortec V-8 engine that is said to have come from a Chevy truck. It is hooked up to a Positraction limited-slip differential and a 4L60-E four-speed automatic in the back to slow it down. These big BFGoodrich T/A tires fit on the back end because they have been tubbed.

This Nova is more than just fast. It has QA-1 adjustable coilovers, four-link suspension in the back, and reworked front and rear subframes. Even though the V-8 rumble and power bulge on the hood make it stand out, it’s still a very nice and stylish restomod Chevy.

That’s what draws you to the car in the first place. The selling price will almost certainly go up because of the popularity of the Fast and Furious movie series and its link to Paul Walker. It’ll be interesting to see how much the legendary brush improves this Nova.

Tuesday, December 3, is the last day to bid.
