Toyota announced that three new electric vehicles (EVs) are set to debut in the European market by 2026, unveiling their silhouettes in a teaser image. One SUV looks like the concept Land Cruiser Se 2023, and the other looks like the concept bZ Large SUV 2021. An electric pickup truck has also been confirmed, but it remains unclear whether it will be based on the existing Hilux or introduced as a completely new model. This week, Toyota’s European branch showed off a number of brand-new electric cars. The F Sport version of the Lexus RZ luxury SUV has steer-by-wire technology. The bZ4X compact SUV was redesigned and given more power. The little FT-Me concept showed that Toyota wants to make electric transport easier for more people to access. Toyota said it would send three more electric vehicles (EVs) to Europe by 2026. These would include a pickup truck and an SUV that could be an electric Land Cruiser. Toyota didn’t say much about the three electric vehicles that will be on the market in the next two years, but a teaser image with silhouettes lets us know what to expect. For our first stop, we’ll go to the SUV on the right. It looks boxy, and the back of the roof has a big dip in it. The shape of this car looks a lot like the idea Land Cruiser Se that was shown in 2023. At the time, Toyota only said a few things about the Land Cruiser Se. For example, it had three rows of seats and an electric engine and was longer by more than 10 inches than the hybrid Land Cruiser. There is a pickup truck in the middle, and Toyota has talked a lot about its plans to make an electric car truck. Toyota showed off the EPU concept in 2023, but this teaser doesn’t match the short form of the small car. The most likely thing is an electric version of Toyota’s medium Hilux. In 2021, the US showed off a concept electric truck that showed a lot of what the current Tacoma looks like. The country’s own compact car is the Tacoma. To save money, it wouldn’t surprise us if the base of an electric Hilux was used for an electric Tacoma as well. There are different opinions on the last SUV (on the left). The lower, wagon-like roofline and smoother front end make it look like the present Crown Signia. Toyota is giving up on the “bZ” name, but this could be a real-life version of the idea 2021 bZ Large SUV, which we thought would be called the bZ5X. After releasing the updated RZ, Lexus will also bring two more electric cars to Europe. A number of Lexus EV ideas were shown off in 2021, but there were no hints as to what they might be. These concepts may be a sign of things to come. A three-row SUV and an electric car that looked a lot like the small IS sedan were both there. Some of the ideas shown in the 2023 LF-ZC and LF-ZL concepts may be used in real cars. Some of these types might be available in the US, but we don’t know which ones. An electric truck and a production Land Cruiser Se are two that could make it there. In the coming year, more data should be easy to find.
