Toyota will show off two versions based on the RAV4 at the Tokyo Auto Salon in early 2025. Toyota says the Dark Side Performance idea comes from science fiction, anime, and video games. The other concept gets new life from the Outdoor Lifestyle package. From January 10 to 12, 2025, the Tokyo Auto Salon will be held. At the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon, the Toyota RAV4 will be shown in two different styles: one designed for off-road use and one for everyday use. The first one, displayed above, is the RAV4 Dark Side Performance concept. Toyota states that its design was inspired by science fiction themes present in computer games, anime, and films. It looks like an electric vehicle (EV), thanks to a new front clip. The look is finished off with a shield grille that has a QR code, geometric shapes, and a small “Toyota” logo in the bottom corner. Toyota has changed the grille, lower front opening, and DRLs from their usual white LED lighting to a blue glow that looks like something from science fiction. It looks even more sporty on the road thanks to squared-off widebody fenders on the front and back, as well as a big spoiler across the bottom. The RAV4 has a sportier look because its ride height is lower, its wheels are bigger, and it is painted in a color that goes with the outside. The “09” race numbers help set the mood if you’re still not sure what Toyota was trying to do with this design. The Dark Side Performance idea that started on the outside is continued in Toyota’s one and only shot from the inside, which has blue LED lights all over. The lighting plan has been matched to the dashboard and infotainment system, and there is a blue stripe in the middle of the steering wheel at 12 o’clock. Key parts like the gear shift and steering wheel are trimmed with forged carbon fiber. Toyota has only changed this car’s chassis, technology, and looks; the motor has not been known to have been changed. The other version shown here is different and focuses on being able to go off-road. Toyota, on the other hand, lowers standards by calling it the “Outdoor Lifestyle Package.” It has Toyo Back Country all-terrain tires painted black on the wheels. The RAV4 has a small lift to make it higher off the ground, but it doesn’t have any extra bumpers on the front or back to make the approach or exit angles better. Instead, Toyota has used a unique bonnet with its famous “TOYOTA” logo etched on a large, honeycomb-shaped pattern. With red mud flaps, wider fender flares, and a black graphics package, the RAV4 now looks a lot more bold. Both of these ideas will be displayed at the Tokyo Auto Salon from January 10 to January 12, 2025.
