Toyota is one of the few car companies that makes cars that run on hydrogen fuel cells. The company’s Mirai car can go more than 400 miles on a full hydrogen tank, takes only a few minutes to fill up, and doesn’t release any harmful gases. Toyota wants to change that the Mirai isn’t an exhilarating car. During the 24 Hours of Fuji, a company from Japan showed off the Mirai Sport Concept, a smaller, more active version of the Mirai. Toyota hasn’t said much about the car yet, so we don’t know much about it yet, but it looks like it has more anger on the outside. It has new wheels, a lower stance, and front and back ends. LOVE CARS!TV!, a Japanese YouTube site about cars, has the best look at the vehicle. The story of the new Mirai is the same as the story of the old Mirai. Only 182 horsepower is needed to move the FCEV’s 4,200-pound load weight. To call something this big and heavy a sports car would be a big mistake. For example, the CT5-V Blackwings is smaller and has 668 horsepower. Power isn’t everything but it could boost since it has to move so much mass. Toyota is trying, but this is the only fast hydrogen car that can be driven on the road. Once the infrastructure to support FCEVs is built, which no one seems ready to pay for, hydrogen could be one of the primary energy sources for sustainable transportation. Also, as this car from Toyota shows, hydrogen fuel cells might be more enjoyable.
