• The R18 LMP1 and RS5 DTM racing cars are for sale by Audi.
  • These cars are more than just collectibles—they also receive full factory support for track use once again.
  • Due to strict rules, modern cars that compete in these events are actually slower.

In 2012, Audi released the R18 e-tron Quattro, which was an updated version of the LMP endurance car. It won the 24 Hours of Le Mans right away in 2012. The 24 Hours of Le Mans happened in 2013. 2014 saw the same thing happen. Good job. With Audi Sport’s new program, you can drive one of the fastest cars ever to win Le Mans.

Two Audi Cars Have Won Races That Are For Sale And Ready To Go Again

When it comes out this year, Audi Sport’s Racing Legends project promises to give wealthy buyers high-end driving experiences. In the past, the cars were like cost-free missiles. These days, endurance racing is more controlled, with strict rules about money and rules. Even though GT3 cars are used instead of the big Class 1 races that were used in the past, DTM racing is basically the same.

It’s not new to own a car that won Le Mans, but Audi’s offering is a little different. Along with the R18, the customer gets full factory support, which includes repairs, technical checks, and spare parts. It’s true that the R18 Hybrid is very complex, but manufacturers’ efforts to fix older Formula One cars are similar. A private owner could not turn a wheel without Audi’s help.

What’s for sale is an R18 chassis 207, which won the Spa Six Hours but came in eighth at Le Mans in 2012. It has chassis number 107 and is a 2015 RS5 DTM car that won a race.

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the DTM car makes about 600 horsepower, which is about the same as the best cars in Japanese Super GT racing right now. It is a long way from being a production car compared to the GT3 racers that are currently racing in DTM, but it would easily beat them.

This year, Audi Sport will showcase both of these cars at many events in Europe, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed. If the idea works, more chassis could be added to the two already there.

Of course, it will cost a lot to go to the track in either of these cars. Old horses in motorsports, on the other hand, are usually put away, shown in a manufacturer’s museum, or just sent out to pasture. It would be fun to see these two very fast Audis go around again.
