A recent teaser, which Motor Authority first reported, shows Ford will likely make a high-output F-150 Lighting concept. The teaser was part of a more extensive infographic, a silhouette of a pickup truck with the words “coming soon” in the middle. The seven-motor Mach-E 1400 and the SuperVan 4 were two EV concepts with more than 1000 horsepower near the mysterious truck. Ford thinks that electric cars could be fast if they are made well. The 1972 horsepower SuperVan 4 or the seven-motor Mustang Mach-E 1400 race car are all you need to see. Both of these unique designs are moving billboards for the blue oval brand’s vision of EV performance, and it looks like a high-performance Ford F-150 Lightning will join them. Ford also put out an infographic last week, around the same time it said it was going back to Formula One racing, that showed how its production models affect its race cars and its race cars affect production models. One of the pictures, which you can see below, was a silhouette of Lightning with the words “coming soon” in the middle. How do we know that it looks like an electric F-150? At the moment, the Lightning is Ford’s only electric pickup. The phrase “EV Performance Demonstrators” can be found in the title, so this should come as no surprise. Also, the mysterious Lightning may have more than 1000 horsepower, according to the most advanced theories. After all, the infographic shows the Mustang Cobra Jet electric dragster with 1410 horsepower, the Mach-E 1400, the Ford SuperVan 4, and other vehicles with four-digit horsepower. Even though the concept Ford F-100 Eliminator, shown in the infographic, only had 480 horsepower, let’s remember how powerful the F-150 Lightning model is. The most potent version of the EV pickup has two electric motors that together make 580 horsepower. Imagine that the Ford Performance team has to make an electric F-150 that looks even better. Because of this, the Lightning will likely have more than 1000 horsepower.
