Volkswagen has revealed the prices for the 2025 Golf GTI and Golf R, with the former priced at $33,670 and the latter at $48,325. Starting with the 2025 model year, the Golf R is no longer offered with a manual transmission, and the transition to VW’s DSG has increased the price of the Golf R by $1,720. As a consolation, Volkswagen added 13 extra horsepower and 15 additional pound-feet of torque under the hood of the sport compacts. Volkswagen’s two sporty hatchbacks now cost a little more than they did before. The company released prices for the 2025 Golf GTI and Golf R, which are higher than the prices for the 2024 models. At the moment, the starting prices are $33,670 and $48,325. The Golf Rs can be upgraded to the Black Edition, which starts at $49,640 and adds carbon-fiber interior accents and a dark look for a small extra cost. A new Euro-style option is also offered for all Golf R trim levels for an extra $3795. Both types have been updated for the next model year with new looks on the outside and better technologies inside, such as a bigger infotainment screen. The Golf lineup in the US will no longer come with a manual gearbox starting with the 2025 model year, which is a shame. There is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox in the GTI and Golf R. Due in part to a change in transmission supply, the Golf R’s starting price has gone up by $1720. It now has 328 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, 13 horsepower, and 15 pound-feet more than before.
