According to a press release, Volvo Auto India’s C40 Recharge all-electric coupe-SUV will launch on September 4, 2023. Online reservations are now available for this luxury SUV, which debuted in India earlier this year. After the September public debut, deliveries should begin. The Volvo C40 Recharge will be sold alongside the country’s Volvo XC40 Recharge. The C40 stands out with its coupe roof, sloping windscreen, and redesigned LED tail lights. The trunk and tail lights are new. Back-up lights were also altered. The C40 Recharge’s front looks like the XC40 Recharge, but from the side, it’s unique. This coupe SUV will be Volvo’s first with Pixel LED headlights and Thor’s hammer LED DRLs. It sports two-tone 19-inch metal wheels. The Volvo C40 Recharge’s interior resembles the XC40’s. It boasts a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument panel, short vertical AC vents, a black cabin with wooden components, and high-quality leather seats. The C40 Recharge has an Android-based infotainment system like many Volvos. This system requires Google ID login like other Android devices. They can download PlayStore apps and use Google Maps and Assistant in the car. It has an e-SIM. The C40 Recharge has a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable front seats with driver memory, dual-zone climate control, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, and more. Since it’s a coupe, it has 413 litres of luggage space instead of 452 in the XC40 Recharge. The front trunk holds 31 litres. Volvo C40 Recharge engines have two motors. They will generate 402 horsepower and 660 Nm peak torque. It can reach 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than its SUV cousin. A 150 kW DC fast charger can fully charge the coupe SUV’s battery in 27 minutes. The C40 Recharge was built on the brand’s CMA basis. A USB port powers its new battery pack. The 418-km XC40 Recharge has older batteries. Better, this 78 kWh unit can travel 530 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The Volvo C40 Recharge will compete with the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Mercedes-Benz EQB. This electric coupe SUV’s anticipated starting price of 60 lakh sets it apart in its category.
