“This Way to Kinder, Gentler Times!”Memory Lane’s sign reads. Memory Road has some side streets and alleys that are like Tijuana for the mind because they are full of memories that should have been banned, destroyed, and salted for the safety of future generations. The people who sell old things never tell you this.

Because of the Internet, that can’t happen. The first goal of this week’s Window Shop challenge was to find the strangest vehicle ad. Our well-known panelists discussed weird and funny things from Spain to Saturday Night Live—just the mildly silly entertainment our loyal audience has come to expect.

The editor-in-chief, Tony Quiroga, then showed everyone the scary side of weird. Does anyone remember when car companies used William Burroughs’ hallucinogens and Edgar Burrows’ science fiction to promote a boring Chevrolet sedan? Is it strange that Quiroga could remember?

He did give it to us, so we’re giving it to you today. Watch as C/D feature masters K.C. Colwell, Leana Schorr, Jonathon Ramsey, and Svengali John Parley Huffman lose their innocence.
