How does driving the newest BMW M3, which is also the slowest, feels? You could be shocked. During our 40,000-mile test, our 2022 BMW M3 hit the sweet spot. It was fun to drive and had few problems, as you may have read in our long-term conclusion. We didn’t like how the steering or front end looked, but the feeling of sending 473 horsepower to two rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission made up for it. We go into more detail about what it’s like to drive, like how just using a manual transmission makes every time you’re behind the wheel more fun. We also talked about how hard it was to find winter tires, how much they cost, and how it was to live with them during the winter. We also talked about the compliments we got on our M3 and how quickly the back tires wore out. Okay, we shouldn’t have tried to get a five-star drift rating from the M3’s M Drift Analyzer tool, but that last one was our fault (we only ever managed four and a half). Even though we knew the tires would wear down, we were surprised to see wear marks on the front brake calipers. In the video, we look at a few possible causes. Overall, our M3 was a reliable car that liked to drive long distances. There may be faster, more powerful, and more expensive versions, but this Isle of Green M3 was the most fun for us.
