• There are 473 horsepower in the 2025 BMW M2, which is 20 more than the 2024 model.
  • You can still get the six-speed manual, but the automatic M2s have 37 pound-feet more torque than the 2024 model.
  • A few changes have also been made to the inside. Screens are now more important than standard controls.

The newest BMW M2 was released for the 2023 model year. It has a 453-hp twin-turbo inline-six engine and a powerful new look. After only two years, BMW is already making changes to its smallest sports car. The 2025 BMW M2 will be released later this year with an extra 20 horsepower, new paint colors, and a better navigation system.

With 20 more horsepower, the 2025 BMW M2 now has 473 horsepower

Stronger Punch

The engine’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo now makes 473 horsepower, 20 horsepower more than the 2024 model and about 70 horsepower more than the 2021 M2. The M2 still has only rear-wheel drive, and it comes standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. There is also an automatic drive with eight speeds. The torque in M2s with automatic transmissions goes from 406 pound-feet to 443 pound-feet, but it stays at 402 pound-feet in M2s with manual transmissions. BMW says that a new throttle map has made the car more agile.

BMW says it takes 4.1 seconds, which is 0.010 seconds faster than the last M2 with a stick shift. It is said that the automatic-equipped M2 can do the same sprint in 3.9 seconds. Based on our time of 3.9 seconds for the manual M2 in our tests for Invoice Pricing, BMW may have been exaggerating their claims. With the M Driver’s Package, you can go faster than the top speed limit of 155 mph to 177 mph.

Beautiful new looks

In 2025, BMW will add a lot of new paint colors, such as Sao Paulo Yellow, Skyscraper Grey Metallic, Portimao Blue Metallic, and Vegas Red Metallic. There are also four beautiful new colors available through BMW’s customization program. They are Voodoo Blue, Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic, Twilight Purple Pearl Effect Metallic, and Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic. For models made in 2025, you can also ask for wheels that are finished in shiny silver. Standard black tailpipes and black emblems with a silver border are some other changes to the design.

BMW changed the inside of the steering wheel by adding new spokes, a flat bottom rim, and a red marking in the middle at noon. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather by default, but you can also get it in Alcantara or heat it. You can now buy M Carbon bucket chairs on their own. Before, you had to get the $9900 Carbon package. Simple leather seats can now be chosen in black with red accents.

This car has a curved screen above the dashboard with a 14.9-inch tablet and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. It controls BMW’s newest operating system. Computerized controllers that can be told what to do by words are now used to change the weather. Because of this, fewer buttons have been added to the panel.

Starting in August, the 2025 M2 will still be made at BMW’s plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The starting price of the M2 is $66,075 instead of $64,195 for the 2024 one.
