• Even though Lucid lowered the Air Pure’s battery size in 2025, the device’s range was increased to 420 miles.
  • It was first added to the explosive Air Sapphire, but now the heat pump comes with every Air series car.
  • The 2025 Air Pure’s price has remained unchanged since 2024, but the Touring and Grand Touring models’ prices have increased by $1,000.

A California company called Lucid Motors isn’t giving up on the Air car; instead, it’s working hard to get its second model, the Gravity SUV, ready to come out later this year. Instead, Lucid is planning to make a lot of changes to the Air for the 2025 model year. For example, the Pure base model will have a longer range, and all versions will come with a heat pump.

Within 2025, Lucid Air Pure will get a range and a regular heat pump

Lucid’s base model of its electric luxury car can now go 420 miles on a single charge, one mile farther than the model from 2024. The 84.0-kWh battery pack in the 2025 Air Pure is a little less powerful than the 88.0-kWh unit in the 2024 model, even though it has a small rise. Lucid says that the 2025 Air Pure is now the most energy-efficient car ever. According to the EPA, it gets 146 miles per gallon and 5 miles per kWh.

Lucid says that the smaller battery pack makes the public power grid less busy when it’s being charged and lets the same amount of raw materials be used to make more cars. The smaller battery also uses less power and increases the range in miles.

This is because the EPA changed the way they test cars, so the next model year, the more expensive models lose range while the 2025 Pure gains range. The Touring’s maximum range has shrunk from 411 miles to 406 miles. The Grand Touring’s range on a single charge is now 512 miles, which is four less than it was in 2024.

A heat pump was first added to the high-performance Air Sapphire and then to the Air Grand Touring in 2024. For 2025, all Lucid Air models will come with a heat pump as standard. Lucid also says that each 2025 Air has “new-generation control hardware” that has three times the processing power and twice as much memory, which should make the entertainment system better.

All models now include DreamDrive driving assistance technology, which includes a 3-D surround view and blind-spot monitoring. The Lucid Air Grand Touring also comes with the Surreal Music Pro music system as standard equipment.

The Pure still costs $71,400, the same as it did in 2024. The Touring costs $80,400 more than the Grand Touring, which costs $112,400 more. Lucid says that people can now place orders for cars that will be delivered in 2025.
