In 2023, Roadkill Nights will be put on by MotorTrend. The wild one-day racing event Powered by Dodge is on the move! The famous street-legal drag race will still be held on Woodward Avenue, but now it will be in the middle of Pontiac, Michigan. Mark August 12, 2023, on your calendars and come with us to one of the most exciting fan events of the year. The first Roadkill Nights event occurred a few months ago at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the Strip. The second will appear near the new crossing of Woodward Avenue and West Pike Street in 2023. Attractions like Dodge thrill rides, a manufacturer’s fair, a car show, drag racing, and more will stay in the same place on Woodward Avenue. The Woodward Avenue Street Racing Without question, the drag racing on Woodward Avenue is the most popular thing to do. Cruising Woodward has been famous in Detroit for a long time, but it took off in the 1960s when the factory performance-driven age became popular. That casual driving turned into impromptu drag races. OEMs used Woodward as an unofficial place to test their cars against those of local racers. MotorTrend turns the famous highway into a legal dragstrip for this one night of car chaos. Substantial obstacles are set up for the loud Small Tire, and Big Tire races, and the track is treated with a traction compound. Dodge Rides for Thrills Using the Dodge Thrill Rides, fans can get in on the action outside of the temporary dragstrip’s holding walls. Dodge street cars powered by Hellcats can now be used for thrill rides and drift courses at the new site. Professional drivers take Roadkill fans for rides while burning the tires at high speeds to celebrate horsepower. Tim Kuniskis, the CEO of the Dodge brand, says that the Pontiac stop will be the second of 2023’s two Roadkill Nights events. Our little horsepower show started as a small event but has grown into something that any severe muscle car fan must see.
