We often forget that the side-by-side sports market is only about ten years old, even though we may take them for granted now. In 2014, the Polaris RZR XP was the first sign that people were moving away from modified utility cars. Since then, the market has done well. After releasing the brand-new 2024 RZR XP, Polaris is back with the 2024 Polaris Expeditions, a new vehicle that has changed the market.

For whom was the Xpedition made?

The 2024 Polaris Expedition is a unique vehicle for people who love overland exploration. It blends the best features of a sport vehicle with those of a utility vehicle. Sport and speed side-by-side have always put a lot of emphasis on how fun they are to drive. On the other hand, the Expedition was made fun and easy to journey with enough people and supplies.

The Polaris Expedition is flexible, easy to customize, and has many attachment choices so riders can get over even the roughest terrain. The Expedition comes with the latest technology and many comfort and convenience features. It can also be quickly changed to fit the needs of any trip. Do you know what this is? That sums up the people who travel by land.

Performance on and off the road

Polaris’s brand-new 999-cc parallel-twin Poster 1000 Gen 2 engine powers the Polaris Expeditions 2024. This 114-horsepower engine was first seen in the 2024 Polaris RZR XP, which was brand new. The Expeditions also has the most fuel capacity on the market at 12.5 gallons, which gives it a range of more than 200 miles in ideal circumstances. On-demand all-wheel drive is powered by a CVT transmission with high- and low-range gears.

Xpedition XP vs. Premium vs. NorthStar vs. Ultimate

In 2024, Polaris Expeditions will have two models: XP and ADV. Even though the mechanical parts of the two types are the same, they each have a few unique features that will make them more appealing to different buyers. The flat length of the Expedition ADV’s fully covered pass-through rear gearbox is 36 inches on the 2-seat model and 63 inches on the 5-seat model. The open, dump-style cargo box on XP models is 30 inches long. The interiors of the ADV 5-seat models can be folded flat, while the XP models have 60/40 flip-up rear seats that can quickly be turned into more storage rooms. Both types have a bed that is 48 inches wide and has sides that are 16 inches high.

Comfort all year

One of the worst things about side-by-side riding is that you must be out in the weather. Don’t even get us started on leaky cabs. The 2024 Polaris Expedition comes standard with an optional Pro Shield Cab System, the company’s most integrated and airtight cab protection. NorthStar models have a heating and cooling system that can be adjusted. Different control modes let users set and direct the airflow to make the cab comfortable in hot or cold weather. The only sport side-by-side with an HVAC system is the Expedition NorthStar. Riders can enjoy the outdoors while staying comfy inside the covered cab. This is made possible by motorized windows and a front windscreen that can be tipped out.

Able to handle any adventure

The flat top of the Polaris Expedition 2024 lets you add more than 100 brand-new adventure-focused extras. Extras include a Rhino-Rack roof rack, a Polaris roof tent, a kayak holder, fishing rod holders, Matrix traction boards, LED light bars, bed racks, spare tire mounts, and more. The back of the Expeditions has a prominent storage place, and the floors inside are flat. The five-seat configurations of the modular rear seats give you even more storage choices. The Expeditions, Polaris’s first car, will also be the first place where the revolutionary Lock & Ride MAX luggage system will be used.

Polaris has five sets of accessories riders make to help people get their new Expeditions cars ready to go. These include Overland, Kayak, Trail, Hunt, and Utility, all made for outdoor sports. With lockable doors, a canter bench, and a back cargo box, keeping things safe has never been easier. In case of an emergency, the Expeditions is also equipped with a Polaris HD escape winch that can pull 4,500 pounds.

What does it cost to acquire a Polaris Expeditions?

For 2024, the Polaris Expedition XP and ADV come in three trim levels: Premium, Ultimate, and NorthStar. They can seat two or five people. The introductory Premium XP trim price is only $28,999—the base price increases by $3,000 to $31,999 when the intermediate Ultimate XP is added. The NorthStar XP starts at $38,999 and has everything you need. For the ADV model, the price of the XP model goes up by only $1,000.

What, you mean I could get a Jeep?

We know what you’re thinking, and you can trust us when we say that’s where you can find us. Why bother when a fully equipped Polaris Expeditions ADV NorthStar for five people probably cost closer to $50,000 and a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited will start at about $47,000 (or a 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands will begin at about $48,000)? The best answer is that many different tools are used for other things.

Riders can go farther on the road in less time with the Expeditions. They take up less space, weigh less, and in some ways are stronger. Furthermore, side-by-sides are frequently less expensive to acquire and keep. On the other hand, you usually need a truck and trailer to get these vehicles to the start, and most states require that you wear a helmet when driving these vehicles, which is just brilliant. So, it has always been hard to choose between a side-by-side and a car that can be driven on the street, but the Expedition has made it even harder.
