In the 1990s, many old race cars were changed to be driven on the street. The Porsche 962CR Schuppan is an excellent example of this style, and you can now buy one of these rare cars. That is if you already have the money. The Porsche 956 and 962 are part of a family of very successful race cars. They won a total of 17 endurance races. The 962 won the Le Mans race in 1986 and 1987, ending a great run. Vern Schuppan, a Porsche driver, raced his 962s in the late 1980s. When they were done with the track, he decided to turn them into street cars. With the help of a Japanese investment company, he made six cars. Bingo Sports currently has one of these vehicles for sale. The 962CR Schuppan, which can be driven on the road, has a 3.3-liter flat-six engine with two turbochargers. It has 600 horsepower and comes standard with a five-speed manual gearbox that powers the back wheels. All of this is put inside a race monocoque made of carbon fiber.
