When I get in an old car, I always wonder what it has been through. What kinds of trips has it been on? In what place has it been? Northeast Auto Imports has this JDM 1997 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter for sale. Not many cars have seen as much as this one, though some have seen much more interesting things. The news station uniform is still on it because it used to be a TV truck.

This truck belonged to the RSK Sanyo Broadcasting Corporation in Japan, which runs several TV and radio stations in Okayama and Kagawa. It has yet to determine exactly what area it served at its busiest. The sticker on the truck seems to say “J-RSK-21,” which is the station’s car number. It might be fun for the next owner to figure out where it worked. In the past, it might have been used to report live from the scene of a terrible crime or a bank robbery.

You can live out your TV dreams from the 1990s with this JDM Mitsubishi broadcast truck for sale

Some of the original TV broadcasting equipment is missing, but most of the storage spaces, gauges, switches, and connectors are still there. The car has a lot of big compartments with buttons and a really cool-looking azimuth indicator. The labels on all of them are in Japanese, which makes it hard to figure out what they do. These are often used to make antennas work. The Road Explorer 9.0 GPS and the car phone are also fun to use because they are so accurate to the period. That kind of tech would be easy to fit if you wanted to show a podcast or something else that is very Millennial. But this truck is great even without any radio gear; it has a lot of storage space and is useful in many ways.

The car has only 47,000 miles on it, so it must have spent most of its life watching local TV. Even though it is no longer on TV, there are still many reasons to love it. The Mitsubishi has a strong 4.6-liter diesel engine with four cylinders and naturally aspirated air flow. It has an all-wheel drive and a five-speed manual gearbox. What a beautiful set of words.

But there’s more. The separate three-cylinder diesel generator in the back lets you run any equipment you want without having to use the big, noisy engine inside. The best part is that you can use this space as a small hangout area. An air conditioner on the roof will keep you cool.

Customizing this truck gives you almost endless options, which makes it even more appealing. At $22,500, it’s not cheap, but it might be the coolest and most exciting utility car in the area. If the walls could talk to each other.
