There are now a few more colors of base classic trim. Small changes to the equipment. As part of the 2017 Countryman second-generation launch. To begin with, miniatures are small. The name makes that clear. The biggest Mini is the 2024 Countryman crossover SUV. Its size might even be seen as “surprising,” like the Mini is. With a maximum cargo space of 47 cubic feet, the Countryman aims to be more comfortable and useful than similar Minis. And yet, it is still called a small SUV. Also, the third-generation Countryman, which is going to come out in 2025, will replace the second-generation Mini Countryman that comes out in 2024. The Countryman costs more, but it comes with free planned maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. It also has better materials inside, BMW tech (BMW owns a mini), and you can change how it looks. Really, though, you’re paying more for the Countryman’s joy. From the inside and the outside, it looks like a Mini. You should get the John Cooper Works or Cooper S; speed is also very important. If you put a lot of value on these things, you could even say that a Countryman is worth the money. Mini markets itself as a high-end brand in the small market gap between high-end and mass-market cars. Other brands in this gap include Buick, GMC, Jeep, Mazda, and Volkswagen. The Buick Encore GX, Jeep Compass, Mazda CX-30, and Volkswagen Taos are all still in the race. Both have more powerful base engines and lower starting prices, but only the Mazda and Mini are better quality. Also, these competitors can only beat a Countryman in terms of performance and the number of ways it can look. Pros vs Cons Pros Change, like a performance edition. It stands out from rivals because of its unique exterior and interior design. A pleasant moment while driving. Cons The front seats are very close together. Limited room for cargo. Premium fuel must be used in engines. Performance How should I drive a Countryman? When we tried the Cooper S, it went from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. Our main complaint about the Countryman’s power is how slowly the engine responds when starting from a stop. Its turbocharged engine makes it strong in town and helps it get to fast speeds quickly once it’s on the road. The brakes on the Countryman work well when you use the panic brakes, but they can be rough and grabby when you’re going slowly. Of course, the Mini Countryman’s best feature as a driver is how well it handles winding roads. With precise handling, you might get a good idea of how the road feels. The Countryman is fun to drive overall, and it can go down a back road faster than most other cars in its class. Comfort How does the Countryman feel? The ride is rough, but people who are used to driving a Mini won’t notice. People who have never owned a Mini might find the ride a bit rough. Even though the front seats look tight and squeezing at first, they eventually give enough support for long trips. Even though the Countryman has a nearly straight windshield and side windows without frames, the noise level from the road is very low. Sounds from the engine and fumes only come inside when you drive faster. Interior How is the state of the inside? The inside of the Countryman has been mostly the same for a long time. It looks unique because it only has a few instruments and chrome control switches. The knob on the touchscreen system makes it easy to check out most of the sophisticated features quickly, and the buttons are also very clear. Being able to get in and out of the Countryman is easy because the front and back doors are short. Because the Countryman is so low to the ground, there will be plenty of room inside for everyone. The only problem with this class is that you can’t see what’s behind you. Technology What is there to do with technology? The Countryman’s navigation screen is long and thin, which takes away from the Mini’s interior style. It looks a little small compared to some of its competitors, but it is easy to read thanks to bright graphics and good contrast. It’s not nearly as amazing that Android Auto doesn’t work with it. People with Android phones will still have to use a basic Bluetooth link, even after Apple CarPlay comes out. On the other hand, the Harman Kardon sound system makes good use of the Countryman’s cabin and sounds powerful and clear. The Countryman only works with USB-C cords or adapters. It has four ports, two in the front and two in the back. These should also be brought by people in the front and back cars. Storage How is the storage situation right now? The Countryman is the biggest Mini, but it’s not even close to being the most useful car in its class. It can only hold 17.6 cubic feet of stuff, which is less than rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLB (22 cubes) and Audi Q3 (23.7 cubes). The back seats of the Mini can be split 40/20/40, but you can only get to the seatback slides from the back passenger doors and not from the trunk. There are a lot of big storage spaces in the front of the Countryman. There will be a place for phones, sunglasses, and other small things. Even though the door pockets aren’t very big, they are useful. Fuel Economy How well does the fuel work? The EPA says the Mini Countryman S with all-wheel drive will get 26 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg on the highway. That’s more than the average for the class. Our test car got 28.8 mpg on our real mixed-driving route, which shows that the EPA’s figures are accurate. It is best to use premium fuel. Value Would you pay anything for the Countryman? Generally, the Countryman costs more than small SUVs like the Chevy Trailblazer and Mazda CX-30 but less than high-end cars like the Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLB. It’s an interesting tradeoff, and the price is fair for the car’s personality and ability. Bumper-to-bumper and engine warranties usually last for four years or 50,000 miles. There is free maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles and roadside help for four years with unlimited miles. Wildcard The Countryman is a great car to buy if you want to have fun while driving and like Mini’s unique style. The Countryman has the same happy, sporty feel as other Minis, even though it is bigger and heavier. You’ll likely find yourself going faster on on-ramps and nice roads because the Countryman is always up for a good time. Even though it’s not the most useful car in its class, it’s fun and interesting to look at. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? Getting the Cooper S with the Signature trim package is the best way to get this Mini in terms of price, performance, and customization choices. The Cooper S’s engine is a big step up from the Cooper’s base engine, and the Signature has a good number of options for the price. Models of the MINI Countryman The 2024 Mini Countryman is a small SUV that comes in three different models: Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works. The Classic, Signature, and Iconic trim level packages are some of the options. 2024 Mini Countryman Video Review
