The curved lines of the old version have been changed with a boxier look that reminds me of Buick’s Envision and Envista SUVs. Like the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia, the 2025 Enclave only comes with one engine option: a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. There are three trim options for the 2025 Enclave, which shows that Buick wants to appeal to both mainstream and luxury buyers. When fully loaded, the Avenir is almost as nice as a luxury car, but the base Preferred is just as well-equipped and available as any mainstream SUV. Even though the inside of the Avenir is beautiful, it doesn’t shine like the best European SUVs. So, the Enclave has less of a battle with higher-end models from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volvo. Instead, it has a better chance of beating similar high-end three-row cars that are one level lower, like the Cadillac XT6, Acura MDX, and Infiniti QX60. What's New? The Enclave has been totally redesigned for 2025. It has a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine, better technology, and a different look. Pros and Cons Pros A stronger engine might work better. A lot of changes to technology. It might be bigger than the last one. Cons No Hybrid or PHEV Option Available. Limited Feature Content on ST Light. Engine, Transmission, and Performance The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine in all Enclave models generates 328 horsepower. The Enclave comes with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and an automatic engine with eight speeds. The Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia also have this engine. Compared to its stablemates, the Buick doesn’t have as many off-road options. Buicks are made to be driven on the street. The top-spec Avenir model includes adaptive dampers and 22-inch wheels, whereas the Preferred and Sport Touring models have standard 20-inch or optional 22-inch wheels and a more traditional passive-damper suspension. You have to buy the extra Trailering package to use the Enclave’s full 5,000-pound towing ability. During our test drive, we noticed that the Enclave was easy to drive and had a smooth, comfy ride. The turbo-four engine has enough power, and the Buick is different from its siblings because it has soundproofing to make the inside quiet. Safety There are a lot of basic driver-assistance features on the Enclave, like lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlamps, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. All trim levels of the Enclave can come with GM’s Super Cruise adaptive cruise control system, which has a hands-free mode. The following are important safety features: Automatic detection of pedestrians and emergency stopping. Normal lane departure warning with help for lane-keeping. Adaptive cruise control with hands-free mode is available. Internal and External Cargo Capacity The 2025 Enclave has three rows of seats that are all very roomy. The Preferred and Sport Touring models come with a lot of useful features, but the Avenir is the best choice for people who want the most comfort. On the inside, only the top model can have one of two color schemes: blue and white or cream and brown. The Avenir also comes with automatic windshield wipers, heated and cooled front seats, ambient lighting inside, and heated seats in the second row. The Sport Touring version has a steering wheel with a flat bottom and the ST logo, along with some other subtle sporty touches. Fuel Economy and Actual MPG The EPA says that the front-wheel-drive Enclave gets 20 mpg in town, 27 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg total. When all-wheel drive is turned on, it gets 19 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on the highway, and 21 mpg total. At 75 miles per hour, the front-wheel-drive Enclave gets 23 miles per gallon on the road. Infotainment and Connectivity From behind the steering wheel to the middle of the dashboard, a big, curved screen that’s 30.0 inches long forms a beautiful circle. The infotainment system and digital gauge display show good visuals, and smartphone mirroring via wifi Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. You can download a number of apps to make the entertainment features even more unique. The software interface is General Motors’ newest Google-based system. It has a 12-speaker Bose sound system, several USB ports, a built-in wifi hotspot, and a wireless charging pad for smartphones. The 16-speaker sound system in the Avenir level was tuned by Bose. Range, Charging, and Battery Life Our test Enclave Avenir with front-wheel drive took 6.8 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, which is slower than the V-6 type that came before it. Price and How to Choose We would keep using the base Preferred trim because it has almost all of the features that buyers of family haulers need at a price that most people can afford. A 12-speaker Bose sound system, heated front seats that can be adjusted in height and width, adaptive cruise control, and 20-inch wheels are some of the driver-assistance technologies that come with the preferred level.
