There aren’t many changes to the Range Rover Defender for 2022, since the vehicle was only relaunched in 2020. Now there are more 2 trims available, which is a welcome change. A new four-door trim, the X-Dynamic, is also available. It’s less expensive than the X trim but comes with many of the same high-end features.

Seating capacity would be increased to seven, but the rear seats would have a smaller leg room. The simple addition of this feature can have a significant impact on the Defender’s marketability.

There are two engines that the Defender can be powered by. The first one is a two-liter, four-cylinder engine with 296 horsepower, which is a lot of fun to drive. It’s possible to get a Defender with a 3 engine and six cylinders if that’s not enough for your needs. The increased power of this engine can draw a huge amount of attention from motorists who place a great deal of importance on their vehicle’s performance. In terms of fuel economy, it’s about the same for the three-liter engine as the other engine.

Those familiar with Land Rover’s long history will recognise the Defender’s boxy frame. The round headlights, a throwback feature, are also a nice touch. The SUV, on the other hand, has a contemporary feel. If you want to stand out, you can opt for special badging on some of the trim levels.

There is an option for an open-air driving experience with a fabric roof. In order to make it even more entertaining, it can be folded back. The Defender can also be outfitted with a panoramic roof depending on personal preference. 

A high-end automotive company would make sense to include high-tech features in a vehicle like the Defender. An optional 3D Surround Camera comes standard on the base model, and it’s especially helpful for drivers trying to manoeuvre through tight spaces. Frontal collisions are reduced by emergency braking, a pace limiter that takes into account road signs, and lane-keeping assistance.The Defender comes standard with Android Auto Auto, allowing its passengers to stay connected while on the road. SiriusXM and HD Radio are a great addition to the vehicle’s ten-inch touch interface and Pivi Pro interface. This same audio system can be improved to ten or fourteen speaker systems and a subwoofer on higher trims.

Land Rover does an excellent job of enhancing the sartorial appeal of the Defender. The steering, gearshift, and seats are all covered in leather on most trims. Heating and cooling options are available, and even second-row seats can be heated. Also available are a heated steering wheel and digital rearview mirror, as well as metal tread plates.
