2023 Chevy Traverse Overview

What’s new:

  • The Traverse will stay the same until the year 2023.
  • In 2018, the second generation of Traverses came out.

Today, cars have to do better than expected to be successful. Even if a vehicle can do something, just checking boxes is no longer enough. When the current generation of the Chevrolet Traverse came out in 2018, we called it “decidedly average” and “awkward.” It was at a disadvantage, and even the significant changes made last year didn’t help much.

Even though the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse has good acceleration, an easy-to-use infotainment system, and plenty of space for passengers and cargo, more than these features are needed to make it competitive; the Traverse’s interior has way too much hard plastic and is hard to see out of from the back. This makes it stand out from competitors that offer some entry-level luxury. Also, class leaders have better interiors and more features and cost less than the rest.

Before you buy a Chevy Traverse, we suggest looking at what else is out there. The Kia Telluride is the best model you can purchase and will be updated in 2023. You should also test drive the Hyundai Palisade, which is more luxurious than the Telluride. Even though it is a few years older than the Traverse, we recommend the new Honda Pilot. The Traverse isn’t a bad car; overall, it’s about average, but there are a few better options.

Pros:

  • There is plenty of room in all three rows for people to sit.
  • Quickened the pace
  • An infotainment system that is easy to use and has a lot of features

Cons:

  • The thick roof pillars and back seats make it hard to see out the back.
  • Some of the panels and controls inside the car are of low quality for this class.

We suggest upgrading to the LT Leather trim because the base LS model doesn’t have as many features for comfort and convenience. Especially significant upgrades are the giant touchscreen and the power liftgate. This trim has the best combination of price and features in the lineup.

Chevrolet Traverse variants:

There are six versions of the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse: the LS, the LT Cloth, the LT Leather, the RS, the Premier, and the High Country. All Chevrolet Traverse models have a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. An all-wheel drive is always an option, but the front-wheel industry is the norm.
