2023 Chevrolet Silverado Overview

Even though Chevrolet updated the Silverado 1500 a lot last year, Bowtie keeps improving its popular full-size pickup. There will be a special edition ZR2 Bison trim level and a more powerful Duramax diesel engine in the 2023 Silverado 1500 lineup.

There are many engine choices for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, from a powerful 6.2-liter V8 to a turbocharged four-cylinder. For 2023, most models will also have a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo diesel engine with more power. The 2023 model’s oil-burner engine produces 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet, up from 277 and 460, respectively. New steel pistons and fuel injectors, a reworked turbo compressor, and “enhanced temperature management features” are to thank for the higher output.

The ZR2 Bison utilizes the most potent version of the available engine options. It has a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The Bison was made with the help of another company, American Expedition Vehicles, to be the best off-road vehicle. It was based on the ZR2, which was already very capable. With powder-coated AEV steel front and rear bumpers, the ZR2 Bison has superior approach and departure angles of 32.5 degrees and 23.4 degrees, respectively, without sacrificing its 11.2-inch ground clearance. Other mechanical upgrades include boron steel skid plates, steel panels to protect the rocker panels, and gloss black 18-inch AEV wheels with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

The exterior decorations of the ZR2 Bison are the first of many ways it looks better. The Bison is the only car with a grille divider matching the body’s color and a standard Multi-Flex tailgate with a black top section. Also, stickers and emblems with the AEV brand are all over the inside and outside of the vehicle.

Since the present diesel engine is a diesel, its pricing is unknown, but we know that it is between $1,000 and $2,500 more than a 5.3-liter V8 and between $2,500 and $3,000 more than the four-cylinder. When the 2023 Silverado 1500 goes on sale at the end of this year, prices should stay the same.

On the other hand, Chevrolet has said how much the ZR2 Bison costs. When production of the Bison starts at the beginning of 2023, the base price, which includes destination fees, will be $78,490. The bumpers, skid plates, and cosmetic upgrades will raise the price of a standard Silverado 1500 ZR2 by about $8,500.

According to InvoicePricing, Chevrolet isn’t resting on its laurels despite the positive reception of the Silverado 1500’s facelift from a year ago. Buyers with a lot of money can now choose the even stronger ZR2 Bison, but the diesel makes a lot more power.
