The first Q8 model will come out in 2019. The Audi Q8 2024 is the top SUV from the company with four rings. The Q8 is similar to the related three-row luxury SUV Q7, but it is smaller, has only two rows of seats, and looks more like a coupe with its sloping top. In 2024, the Q8 will likely get a minor update to make it look like the future Q8 e-tron, an all-electric car version. Some changes include a new face, smaller headlights, and OLED taillights. In addition to these changes, the Q8 still has the same 48-volt hybrid-assisted turbocharged V6 engine and basic Quattro all-wheel-drive system. A 48-volt mild hybrid system drives the Audi Q8 and a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine. The goal of this mix, which makes 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, is to improve efficiency, especially in stop-and-go traffic. In our accurate tests of the Q8, the Invoice Pricing team did not see any of these perks. On our test run with a lot of highway driving, the stylish SUV didn’t get the 20 mpg combined that the EPA said it would, which is already below average for the class. The Audi Q8 competes with luxury SUVs resembling coupes like the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, and BMW X6. Traditional two-row luxury SUVs like the Genesis GV80, BMW X5, and Jaguar F-Pace resemble the Q8. Pros vs Cons Pros It comes with a lot of things as usual and is well-equipped. A pleasant journey. Lovely things for the cabin. Both the front and back seats are comfortable all day. Cons Less valuable than the Q7 that goes with it. It could be not very pleasant to use a touchscreen device. In the usual driving mode, the response of the throttle is slow. Performance How does the Q8 move? When you push on the Audi Q8, you can see that it has the power to go fast. In Invoice Pricing tests, it took 5.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. It is still a fast automobile despite the fact that there are other SUVs in the same class with engines that are either on par with or even faster than this one. But for all its power, the usual driving mode feels like the throttle response isn’t excellent. In Sport mode, the response time gets to an acceptable level. The Q8 is good at both big and small turns. The suspension is tightened in Sport mode, and the body roll is well-controlled. Only in sharper turns does the Q8’s weight become a problem. The turning effort is just correct and very accurate. Comfort How comfortable is the Audi Q8? The Q8 is very pleased, just like any good luxury SUV. The front seats are great because they can be changed in many ways and have soft handles. The padding on the rear is stiff but gives support. Heating and cooling work gently, but they become more effective over time. The Q8’s suspension does a great job of keeping the body in place and making the ride smooth. Even though the seats aren’t the softest, this Audi is a comfy car. At highway speeds, both the noise from the road and the noise from the wind around the window are about the same volume. All other sounds in the background are muted enough. Interior How does the inside look? Audi’s bold choice to use a full touchscreen for its next entertainment system has caused a lot of debate. Some people on our team thought the interface was too big and messy, but others liked how clean and simple it was. We were more in agreement about how hard it was to see out of the Q8. The front and back roof pillars are thick, and the front windshield and rear window are angled, making it hard to see out. But there is a lot of space in the Q8. Even though the lower roofline makes it look like there is less legroom than there is, there is enough space in front. There is much room for your legs, feet, and head in the back seats. Three people can sit comfortably on the back bench, which has a lot of space. Technology How good is the tech? Some people don’t like the MMI display, but there’s no doubt that the Q8’s cabin technology is stylish and well-equipped. The Digital Cockpit control panel is both valuable and pleasant to look at, and we like that you can connect your phone to it wirelessly. The voice control system is less impressive because it has fewer features than Mercedes’ MBUX system. It should be able to do more, especially since Audi hid almost all settings under the annoying information system. The Q8’s driving aids work well, but Audi added adaptive speed control to an optional mid-trim package. Storage What about putting things away? The Q8 is made in a way that keeps most of the cargo room and gives people who see it something nice and stylish to look at. With the extra air suspension, you can lower the back to make getting into the huge cargo area easier. There is a good amount of space for cargo (30.5 cubic feet) between the split seats that fold flat. There is only a little room to store small things except for the vast door pockets. Because there is a lot of space, any size car seat will fit, and the car seat anchors are hidden under covers that can be removed. With the available towing kit, the Q8 can pull up to 7,700 pounds, which is the most in its class. By swiping on the bottom MMI navigation screen, the driver turns on the maneuver assist feature, automatically guiding the trailer when the car is in reverse. Fuel Economy How well does it use gasoline? Even though it has a mild hybrid motor, the Q8 is less fuel-efficient than many of its rivals with similar engines. On average, it gets 20 mpg (18 city/23 highway), which is about two mpg less than the norm. On our highway-heavy test run, we got 19.5 mpg, a little less than we had hoped. This might be because Sport mode was used to compensate for how slow Normal mode was. Value Is the deal good, Q8? From top to bottom, the Q8 is all about class. The Q8 seems impressive not just because of its beautiful materials but also because of how well it was designed and how well it was put together. One interesting design choice is the use of sports car-shaped windows without frames. Unusually for an SUV, the doors are strong and keep out air. It’s too expensive to build something of good quality. Our fully loaded test car cost just under $100,000, which is a lot for a midsize V6 SUV. The warranties that Audi offers are typical for an expensive car company. Wildcard The Q8 gets many points for its sporty looks and does a great job on the road. Even if possible, this car couldn’t beat sports sedans in a race. However, you will have one of the most stylish SUVs available on the market to use when taking your children to and from school. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? The Premium Plus type in the middle is a sure thing. All of the usual features of the base Premium trim are included, as well as the items from the Convenience package, such as a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aid, and a 360-degree video system. Audi Q8 models vary The Audi Q8 is offered in three distinct trim levels, namely the Premium, the Premium Plus, and the Prestige. With the assistance of a hybrid assist system that runs on 48 volts, a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The only engine for the Q8 is an automatic transmission with eight speeds that sends power to all four wheels. 2024 Audi Q8 Video Review
