The 2024 Audi Q5 stands out in the crowded and competitive small luxury SUV market thanks to its beautiful exterior, wide range of available powertrains, and many standard features, such as all-wheel drive. The Q5 is in the middle of Audi’s crossover range. It’s more valuable than the tiny Q3 and agile than the bigger, more expensive Q7. The 2018 update to the current version Q5 made it even better. It’s a modern classic.

One thing that sells a whole system or platform is called a “killer app.” Look at Halo for Xbox, Game of Thrones for HBO, or the city of Las Vegas, where moral relativism is typical. We know that plug-in hybrids aren’t trendy in this class, but the Audi Q5 doesn’t offer anything similar to a small luxury SUV. Low-end trims provide good value, but if price isn’t necessary, you might not notice it.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC has always been a strong car, but its complete makeover in 2023 made it even better, making it one of the best in its class. Also, remember the Genesis GV70. It came out a few years ago and has the best features of its German competitors at a low price.

What makes the Q5 go? The 45 TFSI version with 261 horsepower was used to test the Q5. The Q5 can go from 0 to 60 mph in six seconds flat on our test track, but it’s only sometimes reliable. Once the turbo is turned on and you’re in the right gear, the engine has a beautiful, smooth pull-to-redline that lives up to the Audi name. On the other hand, the emitter sometimes doesn’t know what it’s doing and may be hesitant to connect. This powertrain works fine, but it takes a long time to respond. When you press down on the brake pedal, it feels firm, and there is a lot of stopping power immediately.

When pushed to its limits on a winding road, the Q5 handles it with fantastic ease. When we drove quickly, we noticed that the Q5’s Quattro with Ultra technology all-wheel-drive system was ready to send power to the back wheels, even though it usually sends power to the front wheels. It helps the high-end SUV move around nicely.

How comfortable is the Q5? The front sports seats of our Q5 Prestige were both heated and cooled, making them exceptionally comfortable. Long trips would be nice with these seats, but they need to be more fluffy to be called that. There is good insulation between the inside of the house and the outside world. There is a lot of wind noise, even at highway speeds.

The Q5 handles very well, and the 20-inch wheels on our test car make the ride comfortable for the class. Most surfaces are easy to work with, and even the worst flaws in the ground can be hidden with an intelligent tautness that blocks out unpleasant sounds and feelings.

How is the inside? There’s plenty of room inside the Q5, whether in the front or back seat, and the doors are easy to open and close. We like the commanding driving position, which gives us a great view of the car. One problem is that the handle on the door is often too far away to provide enough support.

The standard 10.1-inch touchscreen looks good, but it’s stuck on the dashboard like it wasn’t even there. Besides, there is no dial or touchpad remote, so you have to poke and swipe, which takes longer to do the farther back the seat is. A few of our workers missed the control knob on the console that was easy to reach on the old Q5.

How does the tech work? When it comes to technology, the Q5 does a great job. The prominent touchscreen is quick and has a high-resolution screen, but as we already said, you might not like how far you have to reach to see it. The digital instrument panel is clear and easy to use, just like the main screen. The high-tech devices that help the driver also work perfectly. The adaptive cruise control is set up correctly on the highway, and the flashing blind-spot warning lights can’t be missed.

It’s normal for Apple CarPlay smartphones to connect wirelessly, but the USB connection was more stable. The Bluetooth link is strong, and our car has a wireless charging pad. On the other hand, voice recognition technology wants you to follow strict rules, so don’t expect much.

What’s the deal with the storage? The Q5 can hold up to 25.8 cubic feet of stuff, which is about average for its class. The BMW X3 (28.7 cubes) and Acura RDX (31.1 cubes) are two other high-end SUVs in this class with more cargo space. Inside, there is no storage space under the floor, though. There are a few points of disagreement. The cabin has essential but competitive storage for small things. There is a medium-sized box under the armrest in the center console and a functional square space in front of the shift button that can hold your phone.

The Q5 can pull up to 4,400 pounds, which is the most in its class. It has very few rivals that can beat it. It is easy to be a parent because the back seat is broad, and anchor and rope points are in the right places.

What kind of fuel economy does it have? The EPA says that the Audi Q5 45 TFSI gets a good 25 mpg combined (23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway), which suits its class. From the 2024 model year on, the combined and highway mpg were raised to 26 and 29, respectively. We proved this by getting an average of 27.9 mpg on our 115-mile standard evaluation trip.

Is it worth it to buy the Q5? Audi cars are known for having excellent build quality, and the Q5 is no different. Inside is a beautiful mix of real metals, leathers, and woods, and the panels inside fit snugly all over the house. While the Q5 has much to offer, other cars are more likely to impress you with their shiny details or glitzy looks.

We still have different ideas about the price. Since the Q5 is similar to other phones, you’re paying a lot for a bad one. Audi’s basic and engine warranties are only four years or 50,000 miles, which doesn’t help their case.

The minimalist appearance of the Q5 is similar to that of earlier models, but it gives off a sad vibe that isn’t helped by the driving experience. Audis feel like the most fantastic cars in terms of luxury, technology, and speed when they’re in top shape. This Audi Q5 isn’t that kind of Audi; it’s a good choice for people who want something different.

The Basic Premium model makes a strong case because it is reasonably priced and has many essential features. Choose the Convenience feature to get into your luxury SUV without a key. However, if it were our money, we would pay more for the Premium Plus option. The Bang & Olufsen sound system is crazy good, the digital instrument panel is beautiful, and the panoramic sunroof makes the inside feel light and airy. Models of Audi Q5

The 2024 Audi Q5 is a small luxury SUV that can fit five people. There are three different tiers of the product’s trim level: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. They all have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. That’s 261 hp and 273 lb-ft more power than the 40 TFSI, which had 201 hp and 236 lb-ft.
