The phrase “quiet confidence” refers to having a driver make a person feel more confident. The gas pedal is smooth and easy to use. Also, the brakes are better than most. It is possible to stop quickly in an emergency while keeping control of the vehicle and staying calm. The pedals are easy to step on. Even though the body rolls, the handling is excellent. The Envision isn’t a sporty SUV, but at reasonable speeds, it makes you feel safe. Comfort How comfortable is Envision? Most drivers can find the best way to sit in the front seats because there are many ways to change them. But the bottom seat cushion is short for taller people. During our tests, the wireless connection for Apple CarPlay was too slow, so we had to use a USB cable instead. Envision’s voice command system works fine but it can’t understand natural speech. The 10-inch touchscreen that is given works. On the other hand, it’s strange that Buick put the infotainment control knob right next to the screen. Why put them together when you can reach for the dashboard to use the touchscreen? The natural resting place for your hand on the center console would have been the best spot for the controller. Envision’s driver assistance features, like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance, are well-tuned and work perfectly. False alarms were never a problem for us. The Bose system’s sound quality gets worse at higher volumes, and the bass doesn’t have much impact. The sound is pleasing at low volumes, but it could be better for a modern design. Storage What is the situation with storage? The Envision only has 25.2 cubic feet of cargo space, much less than a typical small SUV. The Buick has no cabinets or drawers, but it does have hooks for storing groceries. The liftover height is about par for the course, and the hands-free hatch operates smoothly. There is sufficient space for personal items within the vehicle, including adequate-sized door pockets, cupholders, and a bin in the central armrest. A family?
