The 2023 Hyundai Tucson is one of the competitors. It competes with top cars like the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Nissan Rogue. It is bigger than the Hyundai Kona but smaller than the Santa Fe. The best things about it are how comfortable, how long the warranty is, and how much it’s worth. You can also get a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version of the Tucson to save money on gas.

Hyundai has updated the Tucson by giving it a more stylish interior, cutting-edge technology, and a new look. This year, Hyundai changed the features that came with the Tucson and added a new trim level called XRT that looks tough. Even though the 2023 Tucson has some problems, it is still one of the best cars in its class.

How do you drive to Tucson? Unfortunately, the engine in Tucson doesn’t have enough power to move the SUV. It’s OK to go in town and on the highway, but the slowness is apparent if you’re in a hurry. The Tucson is one of the slowest crossovers we’ve tested in a long time. It takes 10.2 seconds for Tucson to go from 0 to 60 mph.

The rest of driving is just like any other day. We like how easy and accurate the Tucson is to drive and how it doesn’t lose its cool when turning. Shifts up are smooth, but if you press the pedal hard, changes down can be abrupt and uncomfortable.

How lovely is Tucson to ride in? Regarding comfort, Tucson is almost as good as a luxury car. It has a flexible suspension that makes the ride smooth and absorbs bumps and other problems on the road. It is one of the best rides like it.

The front seats in our test car with the Limited package blew us away. They had comfortable, velvety cushions that looked nice and had enough side support and power lumbar adjustments. We like how well the Tucson is insulated and how quiet it is when driving. It blocks out outside noise better than most of its competitors. Even when the wind picks up, you won’t have to strain to talk to someone or listen to the radio.

How does the inside look? Tucson has a vast and well-designed interior, making it a very comfortable place. Although front-seat passengers have plenty of legroom, rear-seat passengers can also recline comfortably. The big windshield and thin pillars make it easy for the driver to sit comfortably and in control and give the driver a great view.

The control system is less exciting to us. Almost every feature is controlled by the touchscreen or by buttons next to it that are flat and don’t do anything. People who don’t want to reach all the time find a dial or controller helpful. Also, the screen is easy to get dirty with grease smudges. Indeed there’s a more efficient approach.

How good is the tech? At this price, Tucson has a mix of high-tech features that work quickly and look like they came from the future. First, the 10.25-inch touchscreen is available and has an excellent screen for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both standard features. If you like Hyundai’s in-dash system, the navigation is easy to use because the directions are clear, and the map is easy to see. The voice activation feature is also great because it understands instructions well and doesn’t make you follow prompts as strictly as some competitors do.

We also like that Tucson has many features to help the driver. Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot warnings are beneficial when traffic is heavy. The front and rear parking sensors will assist you in avoiding parking issues despite their constant beeping.

What about putting things away? The trunk of a Tucson is enormous and can hold many things. Behind the back, seats are 38.7 cubic feet of space, which is one of the most for a small SUV. When the back seats are folded down, there is a space of 74.8 cubic feet. The lovely flat floor and low liftover should make it easy to stack boxes when moving or for the holidays. There are many places to put your small things all over the cabin. Large water bottles can fit in the cupholders.

Do you have little kids? It’s easy to put in a child seat because you can find the fasteners between the back cushions. The back seat is big enough to fit even the most oversized seats that face backward.

How well does it use gasoline? In all-wheel-drive mode, which is what we tested, the 2022 Tucson gets; you’ll get about 26 miles to the gallon overall (that’s 24 city mpg and 29 mpg highway interstate). This is alright, and our driving experience on the road and in the town gave us the same results, showing that the ranking is accurate in real life. But when Tucson has AWD, it falls behind the Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue. Since Tucson doesn’t move very quickly, a higher number would also be better.

Is it wise to buy a Tucson? The Tucson is priced about the same as other cars in its class, like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. But Hyundai is better than the rest because it has many appealing features and a high-quality interior. Compared to other compact crossovers, this cabin offers more comfort, entertainment, and quality for the money. Hyundai’s standard 5-year/60,000-mile warranty and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain guarantee are the best warranties you can get. Overall, Tucson provides excellent value for money.

Hyundai had a lot of fun making the Tucson, which is clear from how it looks on the outside and from its many cool technological features, such as its hidden headlights, creative touch screen menus, and its remote-controlled parking system. But in the end, these things are just fancy decorations on a plain cake.

Tucson’s slow engine makes driving hard, and the transmission may be slow if it isn’t used to its full potential. There are a lot of standard features on Tucson that make it stand out from the competition. But it’s not good enough to make it a fun car to drive.

The SEL trim is the best deal in terms of price and features. It has more options than the base SE and has several convenience features like adaptive cruise control. The Blue Hybrid trim will give you similar features if you choose the hybrid option.

Hyundai Tucson variants

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson comes with three different engines and seven different trims. There are five different trim levels for the standard gasoline engine: SE, SEL, XRT, N Line, and Limited. The hybrid has three trim levels: the Blue Hybrid, the SEL Convenience Hybrid, and the Limited Hybrid. The standard gasoline engine has either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the hybrid comes with all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission as standard.
