2025 Lincoln Nautilus Overview

What’s new:

  • All grades now come with a BlueCruise hands-free driving membership that is good for four years.
  • An early look at the Lincoln Rejuvenate system.
  • A part of the second generation Lincoln Nautilus, which will come out in 2024.

Lincoln’s amazing rise to the top of the premium SUV market continues with the updated Nautilus, which came out last year. Not long ago, the automaker’s future was uncertain because it shared parts with Ford cars and was losing a lot of money to cheaper luxury brands in South Korea and Japan. With the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, all of that is past. It has a great cabin, a lot of great standard features, and a strong but fuel-efficient hybrid option.

There is scented air inside, massaging chairs, and a digital monitor display in the cockpit. The driver can drive without using their hands. It’s more likely that these features would be found in a six-figure German luxury SUV than in a Lincoln that costs almost half as much. The Nautilus works better than other machines in its price range, and by 2025, it will have even better features. The BlueCruise hands-free driving system has been included with all trim levels for four years, and the Lincoln Rejuvenate system is back after a year’s break. Like Mercedes’ Energizing Comfort mode, it lets you choose the right music, perfume diffuser, and seat massage for your mood.

The Invoice Pricing review of the new Nautilus has yet to happen, but we are sure that it will get a good enough score to be compared to other class winners. Some of these are the luxurious Mercedes-Benz GLC, the sporty Genesis GV70, and the luxurious Acura RDX. A new BMW X3 is coming out soon. It has a similar appearance and price tag. There are many good things about the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus. You might be surprised by how well it works with technology and how nice it is in general.

Pros

  • Large areas for goods and seating.
  • Cool style.
  • The available hybrid engine gets good gas mileage.

Cons

  • They could be more interesting settings.
  • Our acceleration and deceleration might use some work.

What does a Nautilus motor do? Our test Nautilus had the hybrid engine as an option. It’s smooth and quiet to speed up at low speeds. But we weren’t happy with how things went at our test track. The research we did showed that it took 7.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour. When compared to most other small luxury SUVs, this is a lot slower—the way the brakes work needs to be better. In our tests, it took the Nautilus longer to stop from 60 mph than other SUVs, and the brake pedal felt funny, making it hard to stop straight every time. When you drive with a lot of energy, the Lincoln leans too far into corners.

How does the Nautilus make you feel? In the car we tested, the front seats could be moved 24 different ways with power. It might seem great to have a lot of options, but setting them up takes time. They’re not very comfy at first, but after some adjustments, they’re pretty cozy. Several Auto sets on the climate control system let you quickly heat the inside to the temperature you want.

The Nautilus is both too stiff and too soft, which makes it hard to ride. It’s not soft enough to ride over bumps, but it needs to be more stiff to ride over smooth surfaces. Our test car had wide 22-inch wheels with thin sidewalls on the tires, which most likely caused this. The good news is that it’s very quiet inside while you’re moving.

How is the inside? The Lincoln Nautilus’s interior is beautiful and made of high-quality materials. The functionality is a worry, though. The small touchscreen is used to access most of the features, but there is also a display that goes across the dash. To change even the air vents while moving, you have to use the touchscreen, which is annoying.

There’s more. The buttons on the steering wheel don’t have labels, so you have to guess what you’re doing everywhere else. The only way to know is to look at a random part of the forward display. Most drivers will be in a bad situation to drive because they have to lower the steering wheel a lot to see the speedometer. There are a lot of strange design choices in this SUV that need to work better together to make it easy to drive.

The only good thing about this situation is that there is a passenger room. Both sets of seats have plenty of space for your head and legs. Because it is higher up, the Nautilus is easy to get on and off of.

What’s wrong with the tech? The 48-inch screen that covers the whole dashboard is great, but the Nautilus’ technology is more for show than for real use. We had a few systems freezes that needed a full reset to start up again. Some good things about it are the great sound quality of the 28-speaker Revel audio system that comes with it and the ease of using Google Assistant and Maps.

The Lincoln BlueCruise hands-free system is one of the most powerful ones on the market right now. BlueCruise can’t be used on the Nautilus because the buttons on the steering wheel aren’t labeled, but once it was working, we had a lot of luck using it in traffic.

What’s going on with storage? The Nautilus does a better job in this area than its competition. There is a large, wide space behind the back seats that can hold 36.4 cubic feet of stuff. That’s more than enough space for several big bags. The back row also splits in half, 60/40, and can be folded flat if you need more room.

There is a clever storage space under the center desk, big enough to hold a purse, and the door pockets are big enough for a big drink. Lifting a leather cover lets you access two LATCH points, which must be done before you can place a car seat. It’s easy to get in and out because the doors open wide, and the rear anchor point is high on the back of the seat.

How much fuel does it use? The hybrid Nautilus will get 30 miles per gallon on the highway and in towns, according to the EPA. (Around 24 mpg for the standard gasoline engine.) The results of our field tests backed up what the EPA said. The hybrid Lexus RX only gets 36 mpg on the highway, which is still good for an expensive car.

Why is the Nautilus a good deal? The inside of the Nautilus is truly amazing, especially when it comes to the quality of the construction. In the past, Lincoln cars felt too much like their cheaper Ford versions. The Nautilus avoids this problem by having a strong frame inside. You have to pay for it, though. One version that costs a lot is the Black Label one. The Nautilus could be a lot better, even though it has a hybrid engine with 310 horsepower.

This is the best thing Lincoln has made in a long time. The Nautilus is very classy, with a beautiful shape and nice materials inside. Of course, it costs more than its competitors because it looks better and has a longer history. Both the ergonomics and the drive experience are big letdowns.

The very well-equipped base Premiere trim should easily meet the needs of most buyers who want luxury. The small extra cost to get a hybrid engine that is more strong and uses less fuel is well worth it.

Models of Lincoln Nautilus

There are three trim options for the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus luxury SUV. These are the Premiere, the Reserve, and the Black Label. There are two rows in it. There is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine in all three that makes 250 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. It’s linked to an automatic gear with eight speeds. The same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine powers the hybrid system that can be added to any model level. It has a continuously variable engine (CVT) and 310 horsepower of extra power. All-wheel drive is built into this engine.
