There have been only a few tweaks created to the 2020 – 21 Mazda CX-5, which is essentially the same vehicle. The fresh infotainment system features a larger screen and a mobile application that allows us to control and supervise the vehicle from a distance. The top-of-the-line Signature trim level now includes a number of new safety and driver-assist features.

If the Dioxide Edition is counted, there are five CX-9 trims. It stands to reason to do so because the Emission Edition is so distinct.

The Sport serves as the entry-level model for this lineup. It’s technologically up to snuff, so even those on a strict budget can enjoy it. There is a 4.6-inch showcase that demonstrates key vehicle information and innumerable driver-assist systems in the Sport.

The Touring is the next definite upgrade from the Sport. Captain’s chairs can be ordered for the third row, and a power liftgate is included for your convenience. It has leather interior rather than cloth seats and heated front seats like the Sport.

There is nothing else like the look of the Carbon Edition. Its polymetal grey metallic paint looks great with the gloss black on its front grille. This trim is only available in one colour, so if you’re looking for a darker option, you’ll need to know that. In addition to the wheels and the instrument panel, black accents can be found throughout the cabin. The seats are upholstered in a bright red leather, which is an unusual choice.

Things go up a notch with the Grand Touring. All of the vehicle’s outer lights, from hazard lights to the taillights, use LED technology. The SUV is given a distinctive appearance by chromium – based accents and 20-inch wheels. Six or seven seats are available in the Grand Touring. Even for the second-row tickets are warmed up and ventilated in this vehicle. On this model, navigation is included as an option.

When compared to the Grand Touring, the Signature is an even more impressive vehicle. Just one model is offered with captain’s chairs for the middle row; all-wheel-drive is the only option. Inside, you’ll find a Santos Rosewood trim, quilted and piping on the Nappa leather seats, and an unframed rearview mirror.

A 1.5-litre turbocharged engine powers the Mazda CX-9. In terms of horsepower and torque, this engine is capable of producing up to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft. There’s no doubt that the SUV has plenty of oomph under this much power.

All-wheel drive is an option, but the standard drivetrain is front-wheel drive. Honda’s all-wheel-drive system is constantly operating, taking into account all types of information and determining when to shift power delivery.

Off-Road Traction Assist is part of the system, and it helps with having to handle when the road is particularly rough. There are many situations where the Mazda CX-9 can handle itself well, despite its more refined appearance.

CX-9’s engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission by Mazda With this transmission, drivers have the option of shifting gears manually, giving them more control while behind the wheel. Shifting gears with the paddle shifters on some CX-9s is an enjoyable experience.

Sleek lines, smooth curves, and an aero feel characterise the CX-9’s design. In addition to standard Headlamps, daytime hazard flashers, and taillights, some trims feature LED fog lights. There are also adaptive headlights on the same trims. They can change their angle depending on the direction in which the CX-9 is travelling. This can help improve visibility on dark roads.

In addition to privacy glass inside the back, a roof plot twist, and dual exhaust outlets, all trims have sporty features. The CX-9’s side mirrors are an excellent example of Mazda’s attention to detail. LED turn signals are built in, and they fold themselves in for storage when not in use.

All CX-9 trims are equipped with a wide range of cutting-edge safety features. The CX-9 comes standard with blind spot monitoring, a feature that isn’t always included in the base trims of its competitors. Additional features include cruise control, lane departure, and anterior automatic braking with automatic braking for the Mazda.

The Mazda’s tracking and braking system is capable of detecting pedestrians as well as other vehicles in its path. It has a 360º camera to give the driver a better view of what’s going on around the vehicle, as well as automatic braking in reverse.
