Audi unveiled the 2025 Q6 e-tron Sportback featuring a sleek roofline at the 2024 Paris Auto Show. The powertrains and cabin are the same as the Q6 e-tron SUV. The SQ6 e-tron Sportback joins the regular Q6, featuring a more powerful 509-hp powertrain. The so-called “coupe SUV” first appeared in the luxury crossover market in the 2000s. It has since made its way to the electric vehicle market, where its sloped roof can help it gain a few more miles of range. The Audi Q6 e-tron is a new small electric SUV that came out earlier this year. The company already makes fastback versions of the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron, so it makes sense that it has announced the Q6 e-tron Sportback, which will be sold in the US next year. A Q6 and SQ6 with a Coupe-Like Design All of the Q6’s style changes happen above the shoulder line. The new roof is 1.4 inches lower than the old one and slopes down as it gets closer to the back of the SUV, where it meets a small lip cover that houses the rear brake light. The back end looks the same as the regular Q6 e-tron SUV, except for a big hood and a light bar that goes across the whole back end. The cabin is the same as the non-Sportback models, with an 11.9-inch digital gauge panel, a 14.5-inch touchscreen in the middle, and an optional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger. There needs to be more storage space, though. The Sportbacks have the same powertrains and batteries as their more traditional counterparts because they are based on the Volkswagen Group’s new PPE design. The Porsche Macan EV is also built on this architecture. Audi says that the 94.4-kWh battery pack will have an EPA range estimate of about 300 miles, the same as the regular Q6 e-tron. The 800-volt power system can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes with DC fast-charging at up to 270 kW. Only the Sportback will have all-wheel drive. The base Q6 e-tron, on the other hand, will only have one motor and drive the back wheels. The Sportback model is said to have a top speed of 130 mph and two motors that can produce up to 456 horsepower. Along with it, a more powerful SQ6 e-tron Sportback model will be released. It will have two electric motors and a maximum output of 509 horsepower. The more powerful form is said to have a top speed of 143 mph. Audi says that all performance numbers will be made public as the sale date gets closer. The US sales should start in the spring or summer of 2025. More information will be shared later. The Q6 and SQ6 e-tron Sportback models are likely to be a lot more expensive than their brothers, who are more square-shaped. On the other hand, the base 2025 Q6 e-tron costs $65,095, while the SQ6 e-tron starts at $74,195.
