• The 2025 Nissan Kicks has been totally redesigned to have more space and the latest technologies, but the automaker will still Provide the previous model.
  • The last-gen version will be marketed as the Kicks Play, but it will only be offered in the base S trim.
  • The 2025 Nissan Kicks Play will be priced at $22,910, $310 less than the new Kicks when it hits the market next year.

The latest version of the Nissan Kicks has a completely new look. It now has better technology, a bigger engine, more space, and all-wheel drive as an alternative. But Nissan will still sell the old subcompact SUV along with the new one, so don’t worry if you don’t like the bigger size or the way it looks.

2025 Nissan Kicks Play: An Updated Version Of The Popular Model Priced At $22,910

The old form of the Kicks will be sold as the Kicks Play for the 2025 model year, but only in the base S trim. It has 122 horsepower from a four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and an automatic transmission with continuously changing modes. The S trim comes with a 7.0-inch tablet, a six-speaker sound system, and the ability to use both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

When it goes on sale early next year, the 2025 Kicks Play will cost $22,910. That’s only $310 less than the base price of the most recent model. A small amount of money is saved because the older model uses less gas. The EPA says that the older engine will get 33 mpg overall, which is two to three mpg more than the newer cars.

Nissan has kept an older model next to a newer one in the past. For a while, Nissan advertised the first Rogue as the Rogue Select. Similar strategies have been used by other automakers, such as on Ram’s famous 1500 Classic, which was on the market until recently. We’ll never get Nissan’s choice of calling it the Kicks Play when it was clearly the Kicks Starter.
